As I charge my SE 4 times a month in my garage on L2 charger about 100 kWh and on public charger 100 kWh traveling to CT but I own solar system on a roof 5.5 kW since 2016 charging I3 for 6 years and SE for 4 years which cost me nothing to drive them .DIY system which I build recently as hobby to run few fans in sun room and growing lights for my seedlings and grow lettuce at winter .I just estimate how my very small solar system could stand to charge SE when disaster hit and is no grid power at all. Obviously I need a sun shine and looks to me I can put about 20 miles in good sun conditions. Some statistic from my roof solar and pictures of DIY system which was build completely in my back yard sun room, array on wheels, adjustable panels from 60’- 45’ 30’ recycle 25’ cable from dead Creeper Creek charger and all crimped 4awg wires ,all 12 v AGM batteries protected with 100 amp.bussmann fuses quite fun to put this together !

I'm not a prepper and I would be surprised if if I ever went without grid power for more than 24 hours. Still, there is something appealing about the notion of tooling around in my SE on mostly empty roads while all the ICE vehicle owners are stuck at home. Just think of all the empty roundabouts!*

There's one at the corner of my development. If the way is clear, I love sprinting from 30 to 40 mph through it, versus slowing from 30 to 10-15 mph the way all the bro dozers have to.

I built a solar system to charge 200 ah agm for our tall van, but both our SE and my wife's e-tron get charged from our 10 kw system on our roof during the day, off of the grid during super off-peak hours.
