The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is coming to the Geneva Motor Show in the shadow of the flashier e-EVOLUTION Concept, though it's pointed out early in the press release that this plug-in is the brand's flagship.
They've chosen this venue to announce its improvements, notably, it's getting a 15% bigger battery and will see output of the electric motors boosted. It also changes engines - from the current 2.0 L Otto cycle to a 2.4 liter Atkinson cycle lump (suspect is from Toyota, but not confirmed).
If they can keep the price competitive, they could do very well with this, but by publicizing it this early, they may have people waiting for this next beast, instead of the tamer kitty they could buy right now.
