This would be why I will never try a Motorcycle. You can only control your vehicle, but you can't control the idiots around you. My next "mod" will be a dash cam. Me and my family almost died driving our Honda Pilot but thanks to people observing the situation we were cleared by CHP and our insurance company. Can't trust anyone these days...
Glad your family were ok and you were absolved of blame for your accident. I’ve also been considering fitting a dash cam to both the Mini and the i3. You just see some unbelievable sights when driving which an insurance company would never believe. There was a trend when I lived in the North of England of insurance scams where a car would either just stop right in front of you on a free flowing road, or actually reverse into the front of your car to make it look like you rear ended them. A friend was caught out by this and couldn’t prove what actually happened so lost their no claims discount. A dash cam would have proved what happened.
Yup, same reason why we installed the MINI ACE2.0 on our SE. It also helps to if something happens on a parking slot.
We took delivery of ours in Dec. (We just took ours in again, the dash went out 3 times last week. They have some “engineering checks” to go through then they will likely be replacing it. I won’t accept anything less… unacceptable for a new car) Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
I got my 2021 in August of 2020 and I haven't had this issue at all. I also don't have HUD. If you have had this problem, do you have HUD and/or a 2022 model?
My 2021 has a HUD and I've never had the issue. I also got it in August 2020 and have driven over 30,000 miles.
I was out tonight and had a weird fault. We were going to IKEA and had to make a stop on the way. When I got back into the car and set off I noticed that the light ring wasn’t lit at all. All other ambient lights were on, no settings were changed at all, but the ring was dark. I couldn’t stop to try a power cycle until I arrived at IKEA and when I did switch the car all the way off and then back on again the light ring was back on. It was fine on the journey home too. It’s the first time it’s done that. Has it happened to anyone else?
I use event view, but there were no events which would have changed from the standard ambient light ring. As I say, all settings were unchanged from the way they’ve been for weeks so I guess it’s just a glitch of some kind.
I haven't seen any of the early 2022 adopters report this yet, either. I still suspect supply chain quality control issues for the last half of 2022. But just speculation...
I was thinking the same, or even whether they were going outside of their usual supply chain for some of the chips in the car to try to keep up with demand.
