Reserved a vanity plate for my upcoming SE.

Went with “PLUGME-N”. Most fun electric ones I tried are taken already. My Mach-E is just “MACH-EV”.

    Super close!
B71 is the color code for Moonwalk Grey. I didn't expect anyone to know that code, so that's impressive that you guessed it was a color code. That's the first half, anyway.

The second part is almost a given, now.

On a related note, I just got my C4N paint in. It's energetic yellow to paint the numbers on my black CA plate so that the yellow matches the car. I'm also going to paint the brake calipers like this:

Not sure if the cops will actually care but I'm pretty sure that's illegal... I'm sure it'll look great though lol

The original license plate yellow fades from a gold to a dull light yellow that's pretty close to energetic yellow. Highly unlikely that anyone will notice, but still illegal.

I'll try to remember to take a picture comparing when I actually get the plates in. Could be 8 more months. Work shortage at Folsom jail, apparently.

  6. Just wanna share this pic, my mate took a pic of this SE here in NZ; almost a twin of our SE. I love his plate. IMG_9041.JPG

On a yellow related note, I just got my HOV/carpool stickers (which will be the last ones offered in the program), and they're yellow. Not energetic yellow, but...

... and I put them on last night, and they look bad (no good spot to hide them on the bumpers due to the plastic cladding).

It took about 4-5 weeks to get the stickers after I received my plate number.

In retrospect, I should've just put them on the plastic as low as possible.

Thanks. I see that there isn’t an obvious best place to put them.

mine are blue.....on a chili red. On top of that I had to add an orange parking permit to my back windshield. UGH.
I kind of like the yellow, it works with the little EV badge/S badge in front (at least better than my blue ones)!

edit: I realize now that yellow is "energetic yellow", but honestly I think they look pretty clean relative to how mine look

I love that, too! “GAS LOL” is one of the plates whose availability I checked on here in PA a few months back. It was already taken, of course.

Is there any advantage to having an "alternative fuel" license plate? Or is it just cosmetic?

  16. In Ontario, having a “green” license plate allows you to use High Occupancy Vehicle lanes even if you are the sole occupant.

For Georgia it sounds like they were created for hybrids, and for BEVs it means nothing:

For pure electric vehicles, the alternative fuel vehicle fees are dependent on vehicle type, not the license plate type, and will still have to be paid regardless of which license plate is placed on the vehicle.

My plates are not vanity plates, just what came from the DMV: B17144W

*BUT*, my wife immediately said, " Your car is itty BITI; AAW... isn't it cute."

    So that's cool... right?

I think mine are coming in the next week or so. I don't really need them often and don't want difficult-to-remove stickers on the car, so trying to figure out how to make them removable.

There are some magnetic options, but the car isn't metal in those spots:

    https://www.slappass.com/
    https://hovmags.com/

There's this cling-film backing but I expect it will stop sticking after a few removals:

    https://abstractocean.com/products/hov-clings

Maybe I'll just scotch-tape them on for the occasional HOV highway drive o_O

On-topic for the thread... I just got CA black sequential plates. Couldn't come up with a vanity that I loved that was available. Considered BLAKTEA for a while.

Did you just order your plates or just receive them?

I struggled w picking what I wanted, bc I wanted something that wasn't overtly obvious. Wanted to use B2TFF56 (back to the future), but went w B71B00 in the end.

I received them a few weeks ago. Not sure how long it took after ordering but they arrived quicker than I expected. Another reason I didn't do vanity is they say they take 6+ months to show up and I didn't want to wait that long for black plates on my blackout config. I could always do vanity later if I get inspired.

"MIN E V" anyone can steal this idea.
I dont want a personalized plate on my daily. I recently saw a jerk with a custom plates that cut me off a while back. He wasn't expecting the brake check. He also is looking for the nondescript silver sedan that brake checked him. If I had my toy with the custom plate I couldn't have done that (definitely not with the Pagid orange pads on the car and expected to keep my rear bumper).
