More 2022's in process and delivered = better stats! Numbers have been updated through today. Check this out: TIMING: Average order-date to dealership is 61.2 days! Much lower compared to the 2020 time frames we were seeing. TRIM SELECTIONS: In January 2021, the Iconic trim was 68% to 20% Sig+. With the 2022 trim options changes, more buyers are opting for the Sig+ with the add-ons they want. Seems to indicate some better flexibility in the option lineup for people to save a little money but still get the premium options they prefer. EDIT: These stats are still for all time - not just 2022s. HEAT MAP: No surprise with green Cali leading the EV front, but a pretty good spread across the country.
I finally convinced my dealer to do a software update on my 2021 SE. The good news, I seem to have the latest software. Original versions: Telephone: TT-002.138.001 Media: MT-002.138.001 I-Drive: F056-20-03-531 Post-update versions: Telephone: TT-002.162.001 Media: MT-002.162.001 I-Drive: F056-21-11-550 Unfortunately, still no full-screen CarPlay. But I have not given up my quest...
That's bizarre you can't get full screen CarPlay. I used Bimmercode to get full screen on my 2017 m240i last year, worked great. It may not be an option in the MINI format, but you could use i3 or even 2 series to see if it works.
Weird! My 2021 SE (built August 1, 2020) had full-screen CarPlay since I took delivery. My versions are: Telephone: TT-002.146.002 Media: MT-002.146.002 I-Step: F056-20-07-520
Just remembered it took a little more to upgrade the firmware, and the dealer asked for a few hundred bucks to do it. There are several companies on BMW websites that will assist with this. I used Bimmer Remote https://bimmer-remote.com to do it for $45. You do need a PC with ethernet connection to the OBD port, adapters are plentiful on Amazon, you download the code then install into the car. They have this available for MINI, and though I haven't needed it for my MINI I would imagine it's a similar setup. Once I found a PC I could use (actually just used temporary Parallels on my MBP) it was a snap to upgrade. The small cost and effort was WELL worth it for me, these screens are small but being able to get full-screen CarPlay for maps including Waze and Google Maps is well worth it IMO!
