Excellent on the full screen! And the nav prompts in the HUD also sound very cool.

I, too, like the HUD NAV directions, but I'm unhappy I can't get the English lady to deliver audio NAV prompts. I can switch to her for the car prompts, but not for NAV prompts. Do MINI Electric drivers in the UK get the American NAV lady, too?

I also asked about changing the navigation voice at my "second date" and was told it could not be changed.

Looks like I definitely need an update:

    Telephone: TT-002.138.001
    Media: MT-002.138.001

Now how to get that done...

Report back on the basics for getting it done, and if you got full screen!

Does the Spotify bluetooth companion app on the head unit work for you guys? Mine stopped working after a couple months, now it just treats my phone as a regular bluetooth device so I can't choose playlists or album art. I haven't gotten an update for the head unit firmware as far as I know so I'm wondering if it could be the Spotify Android app that changed.

Thanks for finding that. That sucks. Weird such a new car doesn't have the latest iDrive system.

I am impressed with the blacked out trim pieces and badges on the outside. But does anyone know if any of this is an option when ordering for the US?

No, it is not an option. WYSIWYG, and several of us have tried to go "off menu" with seemingly simple requests, only to be denied in a seemingly un-MINI way.

One thing I hadn't thought about, in my desire to "stealth" my SE, was a point he brought up: he left the Energetic Yellow forward and aft badges in place to alert first responders they were dealing with an electric car. Worth considering, IMO.

That was my impression. Thanks for verifying. I will keep my expectations in check. :) The only appearance I would be tempted to modify myself at some point would be the front grill (like @Matt Shumaker). I think the regular Cooper S front grill looks great.

The exterior options are limited to selecting/deleting the Energetic Yellow mirror caps and grille blade (not available with Chili Red or British Racing Green SEs), and deleting (no rebate) the sunroof from a Signature Plus or Iconic trim SE. I wrote letters to the head of BMW, the head of MINI, the head of the MINI factory, the lead SE project manager, and the head of MINI USA, saying I would pay $1,500 to get the less-expensive scoopless hood they put on MINI Coopers in the same factory, but my letters were ignored. (I apologize to long-time members of this forum for my never-ending rant.)

I went with Iconic because of my OCD. I couldn't handle having the blank toggle switch. If there was some option or package that would have filled that spot, I would have went with the Signature plus (really want the moonroof) and that.

It's the same reason I got the rear fog lights (which I never used) in my R56

I wish we could get rear fog lights in the US. I live in an area where fog sets in often and they were really useful on my old R56. I also think they are useful in heavy rain or whiteout snow. As it turns out, the SE has fully-functioning rear fog lights even in the US. All that's missing is the switch and some coding to activate them. Some have used Bimmercode to have them come on with the brake lights, but I'm on a quest to get the rear fog switch installed.

I'm even worse than you! I can't stand looking at the blank button above the toggle switches. I'm trying to figure out how to apply my "Eject Hood Scoop" pictograph to it. Then I'll tell people it is a button you get to press only once and I already pressed it.

Talked to my dealer and 866-ASK-MINI, no updates available and they both claim the newer software "must be aftermarket", so I don't know what to think.

I was told the SE has IDrive 5.6, and the MINI person said it isn't until IDrive 7 that CarPlay went fullscreen.

Our June-built SE has the same software version. We haven't tried Apple Carplay yet to see if it uses the full 8.8-inches of screen.

@insightman English review videos I've watched feature NAV prompts with an English accent. You can listen to that at around 31.15 in the following video:
