I showed the special clip-on balancing accessory in this post. The infrequent need for this accessory, alone, is not a reason to avoid the Power Spokes because the accessory costs less than $30. Worrying about curbing the Energetic Yellow stripe around their circumference is what keeps my Power Spokes in the basement except when I put them on my SE for Drive Electric Week events.
For those of you who do not yet have your Mini SE, do not lament the lack of Variable Light Decoding in the USA. The regular beams are so good that I rarely use the high beams. These lights are better than any vehicle I have ever owned since 1988.
Not only that, but the auto high beams (if you have that feature) is outstanding. It is exceptional at not blinding oncoming drivers.
I recently placed an order for a 2023 SE, and according to my sales rep, Mini previously offered a $100 credit for the heating steering wheel and $350 credit for the alarm system. However, due to supply chain issues with the wiring harness (I read they were manufactured in Ukraine?), the two new 2.0 trims do not include these options, and thus the credits are no longer available. Lastly, there's a $325 increase in the Sig Plus 2.0 trim that's not yet live on the website. Long story short, it seems that prices went up by by $775. Lastly, my dealer quoted a five-month lead time, which matches what someone said earlier. A different dealer said nine months, so who knows.
Confirming, in the last few days the price has increased and the heated steering wheel credit disappeared from the US website (now it's a $250 option). The tweedy cloth/leatherette seats are also now gone, with cross punch leather now the default. Finally, Navigation Plus is no longer available (does that mean you can't pair your phone with the car? That would be a deal breaker for me.)
wow that's not good.. I don't see any mention of the harman/kardon system.. alarm system..standard features are not listed. It's like.. way less information than before. No navigation plus? So what do we get? Plus, the heated steering wheel is now $250 and not standard on Iconic? I ordered an Iconic a week ago... I probably should call the salesman... I haven't gotten a production number but maybe this is them phasing out things in preparation for the change over?
On my build sheet, Signature Plus 2.0 includes: 313 Power-Folding Mirrors 322 Comfort Access keyless entry 3AG Rear view camera 402 Panoramic moonroof 431 Auto-dimming rearview mirror 473 Front Center Armrest 493 Storage package 494 Heated front seats 4UR Ambient Lighting 507 Park Distance Control (rear) 5AS Active Driving Assistant 655 SirusXM 674 harmon/kardon Premium Sound System 6AC BMW Assist eCall 6AE BMW TeleServices 6CP Apple Carplay compatibility 6NP Enhanced USB and Bluetooth 6UM Mini Navigation According to the website, the only difference with Iconic 2.0 vs Sig Plus 2.0 is the piano black exterior trim, the HUD, and leather steering wheel? I wonder what kind of steering wheel comes on Sig Plus 2.0.
The head up display is also no longer listed as a standard feature on the Sig+. Hopefully the website just isn't fully updated/correct. Otherwise I may not be following through on my plans to order next week after all.
It's too bad when you order a car and put down the deposit they don't just give you access right then and there so you can follow what exactly is on the car instead of bugging the salesman because I have no idea what changes are happening to me. But thanks for bringing this up to my attention. Something to watch for sure!
Perhaps, but I don't think so. When I configured the car to match my build sheet, the prices now match exactly; it didn't before with the previous configurator. Was HUD standard with the Sig+? I remember it being a $950 option that included adaptive cruise, and it also required Iconic (+$3000). Looking at the website now, I don't see adaptive cruise, the alarm, or the parking assist at all.
HUD wasnt standard on the sig + i ordered in March. It wasnt standard on the 2022 sig +. I think it was a 500 option on the 2022. I wonder if the price went up, or they shuffled the options. Adding leather adds 500, if they deleted the wheel and raised the price 400 it is a wash....
Mine has been built and is either at Southampton or sailing to Sweden at the moment, and yet my MA hasn’t yet told me what, if anything, has been omitted, deleted, and credited on my build sheet.
Hmm. I thought the HUD was paired with the bigger display and hence became available on the Sig+ along the way. Now I'm doubting myself, though... sorry for the confusion!
Pretty sure it was 500 on the plus in 2022. I wanted it but didnt want to spring for the plus, and the red one was available so i went for the red one. i just built my plus as a 2.0. $425 more after the $100 steering wheel credit. Wonder if they put anything from the iconic into it. I like that you can get vinyl or cloth in the new 2.0. I think I would have passed on the $500 leather if i could have gotten vinyl on the plus. I have a leather sport seat from a 135i in my 128i on my side. the passenger is the vinyl. Unless you look real close you cant tell the difference in material. And the vinyl is easier to clean. I needed the lumbar for my 105 mi round trip commute, and the adjustable side bolsters are nice when i autocross or track it.
Same, I ordered 5 days ago and salesman said he'd be back with a quote but haven't received it yet I'm assuming they will come back with the new price. Meaning the same car will now cost $1500 more. (Price increase on the sig + and the removal of the alarm system credit).
My Mini advisor got back to me and told me since we built the car under the old system...things should stay the same but once we get the production number we'll know. But the new builder represents the new 2.0 build more accurately (even though Mini should take a lesson from Toyota's site where it lists every option included in trim level with no grey areas lol) very vague builder as is right now. :/
Vinyl = "leatherette"? (My wife's vehicle has leatherette...feel is fine, but it doesn't seem to have held up as well over time as animal hide. OTOH, the petroleum-based "ballistic cloth" in my 12 y old car seems like it will never wear out.)
Good for you! My salesman sent me a quote with my original build finally. Then a couple hours later sent another quote with the new sig 2.0 build. Smh
