i'm hoping for Morning Cecilie over Orion Highway. It gets in 10 day earlier. But I will take what I can get We are sooooo close!
Arc Integrity is moving from anchorage toward Southampton it looks like. We may have 3 Baltimore bound ships in port at the same time.
Slightly off topic, but in the spirit of what this thread has become; here is a video on how they load and unload the ROROs:
Thanks, I enjoyed that video, but was disappointed it didn't show how they park the cars so close together without scraping and also it didn't show when the crew fastens the cars to the deck to prevent them from rolling.
@nicholaskiz With 3 east coast bound boats all docked at Southampton right now, It would surprise me if you didn’t get on a boat shortly. Then again the last 8 months has surprised me…
Hello Everyone....THIS POST IS VERY IMPORTANT, please read: The US Senate has voted to pass the "Inflation Reduction Act of 2022", which will affect the EV Tax Credit qualification process. This Act will now proceed to the US House for one final vote; it will be in full effect by August 20th. Once fully enacted, the wording states that "only domestically-built EVs will qualify for the $7,500 EV Tax Credit". When I read this, I started to worry, since clearly these MINI SE's are built overseas. To still qualify for the EV Tax Credit, especially for new orders placed recently, please make sure that your Purchase Order clearly states your legal name, legal current address, is DATED prior to Congress passing this Act. My understanding is that if your Purchase Order is dated AFTER the Act is passed, then your MINI SE may not qualify for the $7,500 Credit. This is breaking news and I'm sure the US House will slightly change some of the details, prior to passing. We should all follow this closely. Not only do we have to worry about long delays and Interest Rate increases....but now this sh**!
Yes, there is a good thread on this already. Most likely it won't take affect until Jan 1 because it's related to taxes, but it's worth paying attention to. My MA said their dealership doesn't have any options to help me, which I don't truly believe, but have to just get the car here and hope.
The SE is still one of the cheapest EVs available even without any tax rebate. If you were to buy the ICE version you'd be paying the same price. Not to mention with the current rebate you don't see the money until you do your tax returns—assuming you owe enough taxes to get the full amount.
Agreed; I went in yesterday and signed a purchase order (including agreeing on a trade in value and securing the CT state rebate which the dealership takes care of). I think @Puppethead is simply trying to give some perspective to a bunch of posts declaring that without the federal credit the car is a bad deal.
I get all the discussion, but there is already a good thread on it. Let's try to keep this thread on-topic somewhat. https://www.insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?threads/will-my-se-still-quality-for-tax-credit.14490/
