I just created a web app to do the same. If you install it, you can use it offline on Android. Thanks for the inspiration @GvilleGuy!

Now this right here rocks! Look at you doing all the doing and me just doing a lot of talking. LOL.

I go by 30km per segment (19 miles). I get around 240km per full charge. If you wanted to be safe, 15 miles per segment gives 120 miles range which should be easily done except in northern hemisphere winters. Over here, there is very little difference in range between "seasons". If anything, winter is slightly more efficient as you don't have the aircon on all the time.

  5. Great stuff! For us europeans a version with km instead of miles would be awesome. Can you make the units selectable directly in the app?

Sure! I'll take a look and see what shakes out.

Excellent. I like the fact that the "Total Battery Capacity" field is editable but properly defaults to 28.9 usable kWh. Please keep it that way since the 28.9 value will decrease by age due to normal degradation of the battery. The GUI looks modern and beautiful too. Thanks again for the initiative and your efforts.

Glad you like it! I'm planning on adding the ability to save some default values. That way, if that 28.9 ever does change for you, the app will remember it.

    Wonderful.

I see you already have the toggle for mile/km. Do we need to re-install on Android each time there is a new change with the app?

Nope! The app will refresh itself after an additional load or two. If you kill (force close) the app on Android and open it again, it speeds up the whole process.

Just noticed the app always shows the miles remaining as though you started the trip at 100% charge(?) I used 50% for the "Battery at Beginning of Trip" and the remaining miles shows as 108 miles. The screenshot of my example is attached. Thanks.

Nice catch! I just pushed an update. 48 miles left on a 40% charge seems much more reasonable than 108. ;)

Tried the new version and looks correct now :)

One more thing I've noticed is this: I have the Google Translate extension installed on my chrome browser (its icon is pinned to the right side of the browser address bar). Whenever I launch your web app in Chrome, the Google Translate popup shows up and asks if I want to translate the page (your app). Is this by design for your web app?

Update: Just to test, I uninstalled the extension and the behavior remains the same. It looks like the G-translate is built-in within your app?

Thanks! I was wondering why the range video spiked 2,000 hits in a day. Then that post showed up in my google alert for Mini SE. A nice surprise.

Interesting that batteries are being sourced from CATL. Tesla recently announced that the standard range M3's and Y's will be getting LFP chemistry batteries sourced from CATL. Any idea if the ones going in the Mini are LFP? From what I've read LFP should be a win for battery longevity.
