<Head Smack> Doh! I knew that. I was focused on the plates, and ignored the fact that one backed in (the correct way) and one didn't.
My friend told me to check out Google Streetview of my own house and there was my MINI and me! Evidently, Google drove by with their camera car in November 2020, just 3 months after I took delivery and just 2 months and 3 weeks after I had the hood scoop deleted. Back then I would go out and touch the car just to be sure it was real. I still don't take it for granted--every drive is a treat!
I recently saw an SE headed south on I-81 just north of Syracuse NY. It had the yellow mirror caps and the older style grill. I'm not sure what color it was, either a shade of white or gray. Anyone here, perchance? I waved frantically but I was heading north and they didn't seem to notice me.
Cars and Coffee. Tucson, Arizona. My SE and it’s bigger twin brother from another mother. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
I spotted one outside M&S in Biggleswade, UK last week. I was too busy showing 'my car' to my sister to think about a photo. It was white/silver with the yellow trim bits
Driving on Pacific Coast Highway today in Newport/Laguna Beach, I saw my first SE exact same color as mine (moonwalk grey w/ matching roof/mirrors). It was new, no permanent plates. Weird to see how different it looks w stock chrome bits. Unfortunately, we were in my wife's Tesla. Would've been cool if we were in mine.
This morning I saw an SE in BRG with black roof on I-94 westbound at the border between St. Paul and Minneapolis (MN Highway 280). I'm surprised I haven't seen more now that they're becoming more numerous.
I finally saw another Mini SE last week !! It was Chili Red with Roulette Spoke Two-Tone wheels and was on the 2nd floor of Sutter Medical Center's parking lot in Sacramento, CA. Exciting to see one (other than ours that is) !!
Saw a black SE with white white roof and yellow mirrors drive through the parking lot of Allen Premium Outlets on n Allen, TX. If you drove past a parked white silver SE with black roof and yellow mirrors (pretty much a negative of yours) then that was ours…
I saw an absolutely gorgeous BRG SE at one of the local grocery stores just before sunrise and the color was amazing !! I violated Mini Rule #1 and didn't park next to it, but I didn't see it when initially parking as there was another car blocking my view. This was in Sacramento, CA.
A couple of hours ago, saw a BRG with a black roof at "dekary" and "Jean-Talon-Oh" as such names are pronounced by the likes of garmin... still had the yellow "e" on the rear. Looked like the same car I saw on the way to chapters/cage aux sports in point claire a few months back. The first one I ever saw was at Marcel L, a white one with the yellow trim a couple of years ago. 2 BRGs, 2 white/yellow trim, 1 black so far.
Not going to risk outing myself by naming specific locations, but I have now seen three others in my (conservative, not especially EV friendly) midwestern city...two right by my house, including a Chili Red that could possibly be the one I ordered but then eventually passed on.
I forget, do you have your car yet? Once you get it you’ll find that the built-in BMW nav does an infinitely better job with the pronunciations of our toponymy than either Apple or Google Maps (or any portable GPS). I still prefer using Google Maps overall, but occasionally when I want turn by turn and don’t want to take my eyes off the road, I’ll use the BMW nav as it shows me the directions on the head up display. Boul. St-Jean is still “bool saint-gene” though.
No car yet, but I came very very close. Today I was told I need to decide and very soon. I'm in a condo and trying to get at least a level 1 plug into my parking spot, since before the covid lockdowns. The ABC recommendation is something else entirely when you need to take the car out for the sole purpose of hunting for an available chargepoint.
I saw an SE on my way home, I think BRG with a white roof but the green seemed non-metallic. It took the same exit off I-94 I do, the second-to-last exit before hitting the western Wisconsin border. I go south from the freeway, but the other SE went north. Using the same exit so far from St. Paul means we're practically neighbors!
