Double checked and confirmed $34,295. Also here is a picture of the car from the lot, which shows the silver trim on the door just below the windows so you can at least see what I'm talking about.
Can't see close up but that seems to be more like some type of pinstriping? Either way it looks like something added locally. You probably should just call the dealer and ask them what all was included in the $899 appearance package, just for your own curiosity (well okay for our curiosity also!) even if you didn't pay for it, one day you will sell or trade the car and it's nice to know what extras it might have on it. My guess is that since the only thing you can find that "appears" to be different is the pinstriping then probably the remainder of the $899 appearance package was paint sealing or something like that. Good to know that also as it would mean you probably won't need to wax it for a couple of years depending on how long it holds up.
I'll just set aside the $899 appearance package since apparently whatever it was you weren't charged for. Below is the my estimated calculation of your discount, including what I think are almost certainly junk fees, defined as fees that go to the dealer not to any government agency, and thus are part of the dealer price, just more cleverly hidden.
"Dealer Services": 799.00
This for sure is a junk fee, sometimes called the "documentation fee" it started life many years ago as a small fee (around $20) that dealers charged for handling your registration paperwork. Which is really part of their cost of doing business and should have been included in the price of the car, but hey it's only $20 who notices or really cares. But over the years dealers experimented with how high they could raise this and get away with it, and to their delight found that most car buyers assumed it was a legitimate fee since it sounds official and was next to tax and title etc., so essentially the sky is the limit, I have heard of $1,000 plus fees. However many states cap this, like I think it's currently capped at $85 in California. In Georgia we suffer high documentation/dealer processing fees also similar to Florida. The dealer won't remove it even if you call them on it, you just have to be aware of it and think of it as part of the dealer price and make sure that their price including documentation fee (and other junk fees) is still a good deal.
Electronic CVR fee: 199.99
Junky, junky, junky. The dealer pays a fee to a third party company who is licensed with the state to provide an electronic system for processing the registration. The fee they pay per vehicle is minimal, and again is part of their cost of doing business, yet they love to make the customer not only pay their fee for them, but charge a boatload of markup on top of it. From what I understand the third party company may also be getting a cut of the profits when the dealer marks it up. I have never seen one this high though, but again we live in unregulated markets so dealers can have a field day with officially looking fees.
But still your price is really great and was certainly worth either flying to Florida and driving the car back or paying shipping fees like you did (people were doing that with Prius Prime also when there were huge factory incentives in some east coast states).
Here is what I come up with:
2018 Base
Black, mfg 10/18, 6 miles, Florida
MSRP 34,295
Dealer price 24,098
Dealer Services 799.00
Electronic CVR fee 199.99
Total dealer price 25,096
Discount 9,199
I have seen a few higher discounts than that, but only by a few hundred dollars. Truly a great price, congratulations!
