Can anyone who just bought a new Kona tell me if you are equipped with V13 maps.
One month has passed and still no sign of updates for the Kona.
Did your dealer upload them when you picked it up? Mine did (3 months ago). But of course the SD card could be sitting there for a while too.I bought my Kona 2 weeks ago, but my maps are OLD: NAM.11.47.44.465.108.2
Looks like I need to get them updated!
They told me ready in 3 weeks, and that was at the end of May. Now it says, Out of Stock??!! How can you be out of stock on a software download??I received a reply to my ticket, very similar to the one above. Still saying 3 weeks...
After release we were made aware of some minor software bugs introduced with the v13 update on certain radios, of which your model year is included. As a precaution we have suspended the availability of those updates until the issue is resolved.

We expect these maps will be made available again in about 3 weeks, I apologize about the inconvenience.
Find someone with a Silver Surfer paint job and you can become alloysI'm in the U.S. and got notified of a map update (v NA.12.41.51.593 (v13.0)). So far, so good. When I log into mapnsoft.com to download the map update it identifies my Kona EV as "2019 Hyundai Kona (Iron Man Edition)". Well, I know my Kona EV is based on advanced technology, but having seen an Iron Man Edition Kona, I can tell you mine isn't one. Dare I install this map update into my non-Iron Man Kona EV? Will it suddenly sprout wings?![]()
Without a doubt they would charge $ for itHas anyone had the update done by the dealer yet, maybe when taken in for service?

I have not tried to update, with or without the dealer's involvement, nor have inquired if they do charge. But it would make sense if the updates were available free of charge via Hyundai Corp and the owner.I thought you get 2 free updates a year? Is that only if you do it on your own and not via the dealer?

From what I have learned on this thread, I don't want to bother the dealer techs with something like that as they have been exceptional so far with real issues, and I want to keep it that way. Not worth it from what I have read to this point.
This is one of the reasons (along with current finances) I'm balking about an EV right now. Tesla gets free over the air updates so the car stays up to date till the hardware can't keep up (like phones.) I'm scared of buying such a tech focused car that's stuck with 2019 software in 2025 and beyond.Without a doubt they would charge $ for it

Its only the Nav map updates that are glitch ridden , the car itself works wonderfully and I feel its the best value out there right now. This is one of the reasons (along with current finances) I'm balking about an EV right now. Some road names are at least a decade out of date, whole subdivisions don't exist, and in my area no chargepoints installed in the last 3 years or more are shown. Other Hyundai owners must surely be using the same data provider and howling in protest?
Yes, your phone is a good substitute but only if you have a generous data plan.
