Even my electricity bill hasn’t gone up much. Maybe about $20 a month from what I was paying (my rate is $0.067/kw).

I'm envious. In CA I'm paying around 28c/kWh, which is pretty close to the same cost as gas. I could switch to an EV TOU rate schedule that would reduce dead-of-night use to 13c/kWh or so, but then my daytime rate would go up to over 40c/kWh, so will have to do some modelling to see if that makes sense. At least PG&E does make the hourly usage data available for modelling purposes - for a bit I thought I'd have to cobble up my own meter reading device from a Raspberry Pi + radio module.
 
CA also has a state tax rebate, $1500 for the Clarity PHEV.
Actually the $1500 is not a tax rebate, it's a clean air initiative administered by CVRP/CAFE/CalEPA and paid to you in the form of a check.

Don't forget your utility company who wants to pay you for getting the Clarity - mine is giving $1000 utility rebate check to offset the cost of increased electricity bills....
 
Yes, this is important to specify:
Non ZEV
ZEV only (CA, OR, WA)
ZEV + DLCF ZEV (Northeastern US)
ZEV + DLFC + NYS Tax credit (New York)

What does DLCF (or DLFC, it's listed both ways above, maybe a typo) stand for. I googled it, and just got this post :)

Does (should?) this forum have a FAQ for abbreviations?
 
True. Also just to add, the car needs to be registered in the respective DLFC region/states for the incentive to apply
or in other words, you cannot get the low price if you buy the car in say MD but register it in, say IL.

On the other hand, if you are a citizen of a ZEV state and a nearby state is not, you can get the discount from the dealer in that non-ZEV state. I a Maryland citizen bought my Clarity in Virginia and received the discounts (and more) where the locals were less interested in the car without the incentives.
 
Got an excellent deal on a 2018 base model from Manly Honda, Santa Rosa, CA. $31,000/- before TTL. Very pleasant to work with. Did better than all the local bay area dealers. They did say that they can only do this price as long as they have the 2018 models with them.
Ask for Javier Anguiano or Alex Iniguez.

They just quoted me 32580+TTL . told them about this, and they claimed ignorance.
 
The 2018 are being held tight this month by dealers in CA.

They are not doing any "loser deals" because the 2019 that are coming in are very sparse...
 
Base 2018 Clarity PHEV.

$31,199 OTD, plus 2 years free maintenance (full synthetic oil changes, tire rotations, air filter, the works). I'll be claiming almost the whole federal tax credit next year.

Location is central Missouri, so this price was without any state or local incentives. Every dealership in the state has two or three Clarities that sell slowly, and they're territorial.
 
I am picking up 2018 Touring for $31600 = $34000 after Tax title and dealer fees. He was able to get my choice of Crimson Red + tan interior and its already here. with 0.9% apr it sounds like a deal. Plus $1000 in CT State incentive and I can take $7500 next year at tax filing.

Remember, you can convert regular IRAs to Roth IRAs to increase your taxes enough to take the full $7,500 tax credit (as I did). Then those Roth IRA funds will be tax-free to redeem and no requirement to take required minimum distribution at age 70-1/2. Perhaps you'll be close enough to the full $7,500 already so it wouldn't be worth the hassle of doing the Roth conversion. If you have a tax accountant...

Exactly what my financial planner had me do to ensure I can take advantage of the entire $7,500. After he gets over the April 15 crush, he’ll calculate how to factor in the ensuing tax free withdrawals in 2019 with the tax credit form my solar install (which can roll over to future years) to minimize my tax liability.

2018 Touring $32.7k plus tax, tag, title and $699 “Documentation Fee”. Not in a special market... just Georgia. Looking forward to the $7500 fed tax credit too. Thanks to all for sharing. It helped me decide what was reasonable for us.
