Must-have modifications

I just ordered some cheap aero (front splitter, side skirts) off eBay ($55). If it looks like crap, it won't be a big loss. Will report back if it makes any difference.

I'm thinking about filling my scoop w/ expanding polyurethane foam and covering it w/ carbon fiber. If I try it, I'll probably buy a cheap replacement so I don't screw up my paint matched one.
I covered mine fake scoop 3 years ago without filling a space behind and still is there with carbon fiber sticker an idea with filling a space is good approach just before you do put a plastic first and than polyurethane foam from Home Depot and shave an top with send paper to required shape obviously remove from car and try every step you take off an access of material . I’m going to do this method when my scoop fails.Another method will be with 2” rigid pink insulation which I think is easier to work with just to shape to desired shape .of a cavity of the scoop.IMG_2247.webp

Did you notice any benefit from the cover?

IMG_0960.webp If Elon Musk with his capacity to test something or anything will put my 2022 SE in wind tunnel maybe he will discover I gained range of 0.1 mile or maybe another 0.1 mile of my installation of smoother bottom of a car enclosure made of Lexan for better wind flow and protection. As I’m loosing what I gained having an American flag install on antenna what for a while I didn’t know where the noise come from really loud to the point to figured out putting my friend in a trunk and he was able to heard and feel a noise touch a roof from inside as now I don’t care knowing where that noise coming from being patriotic.I’m loosing range also having bull bar installed with 6” 2 lights on front of a car .On top of this my custom mud flaps are not helping with efficiency of SE .But if I will be worry about efficiency of SE I will never buy a car with estimate 114 miles range but a point is I love a car for look an a range in my case is secondary just as retiredIMG_2474.webp I charge a car every 2 weeks for my needs anyway.

For six years I've believed so strongly that an electric car looks silly with a fake (and skeuomorphic) hood scoop that I've kept this simple web page online showing nothing but a 10-second slide show.

I consider the scoopless hood's cleaner look a major benefit, but AFAIK I'm the only one crazy enough to replace the SE's hood. Oliver Heilmer, MINI's former head designer, clearly agreed with me because the fake F56 S hood scoop (even fake on the ICE MINIs) he inherited didn't persist on the Z01 MINI Cooper SE.

Got my $55 aero kit the other day. It's all black plastic: front splitter (came w/ adjustable rods, but won't be using those), side skirts, and rear fins behind the wheels. Everything attaches w/ screws. I'm going to mock install it w/ tape to see if it's worthy to drill any holes.

After seeing Rexsio's hood scoop, I may just get some vinyl wrap and wrap mine before I spend any time trying to make a CF cover.
