I disagree. I really, really don't like the look of the roof rails on an SE and I definitely wouldn't buy one with it.
I, too, would never consider adding roof rails to an F56. I'd be surprised if anyone orders an F56 with roof rails because they like the look--I assume they just want their thoroughbred F56 to do a little more to earn its keep in the family.

Also I’d like to make the backup camera timeout much shorter, or even to turn off as soon as I shift into Drive. It stays on way too long, and usually by the time I start rolling down my street, I’d like to be adjusting things in CarPlay but I still have to wait a couple of hundred yards apparently so I can know that my baffles are clear.

Yes, I changed mine to the shortest distance traveled and lowest speed to turn off the camera.

I back out of the garage into an alley, once I start moving forward I don't need to see what's behind me.

Maybe it's for backing over someone so you can make sure they're dead as you roll away?

I actually wish I could bring up the rear camera at any time, not just when in reverse. It's such nice quality it's a shame it can't be used as part of a dash cam setup.

I find that it's handy when parallel parking even when moving forward so I can see how far to pull up to make sure I'm not blocking the driveway cutout.

You are surprised. Because I specifically ordered mine with roof rails mainly for aesthetic reason as I have a land Rover to haul things and such.

I also ordered my Audi A3 with roof rails back in 2006 as all the dealer ordered vehicles were not equipped with roof rails, though roof rails are almost standard in Europe.

Aren’t we glad so many options are possible? I wouldn’t have ordered the rails, but my MA never suggested (and I didn’t know about) them.

I spent three days trying to configure my mini online. I knew there were options that I couldn't, for the life of me, find. I gave up and asked the sales guy if he had a list of options. 3 pdfs later, it took me 20 minutes to spec my car.

What is it about the online build at miniusa.com that's not working or confusing may I inquire?

I built and and spec'ed mine entirely online and I was able to see and choose all the options available exactly the same as what the MA at the dealership had access to.

The site in Canada is even worse. Depending on where you click, you can still build a 2022; click somewhere else, and you're building a 2023. Poor list of options either way; really a subset of what's in the US site.

At least you still get the $12,000 instant rebate for critical minerals, battery components, and assembly requirements.
