Resurrecting an old thread...did you ever get this sorted? I'm a bit confused because there seem to be two different color codes for Energetic Yellow that have been posted here.

Sort of... They reluctantly gave me a replacement kit (but not without a hassle) ... to play things safe I just went with their normal black and that's what's on my calipers now. Not as fun as going with the energetic yellow but better to have black then baby food green LOL. There are indeed two codes floating around and my dealer confirmed C4N is in fact the real code. The other code floating around is a pantone # which can't be matched (I asked). My advice, forego trying to match the energetic yellow and go with something more 'normal' (e.g., black, regular yellow, red, etc) Hope that helps.
 
Lol I went with G2’s black as well, but a bunch of stuff came up and I didn’t get a round tuit before winter.

I think I may have gotten the idea after seeing a previous post from you haha... Yeah the process is pretty easy just time consuming. I'd defintely recommend putting your car on 4 jack stands and doing it that way. This allows you to paint a caliper and then easily/quickly move to the next. By the time you're done with the remaining 3, the first caliper you painted is dry and then rinse and repeat... I think I was able to get 3 good coats on.
 
Yup! The reason I put it off, I was (among other things) renovating my garage (still ongoing!) and had no place to do it sheltered from the deteriorating weather. But my calipers are still shiny after just 3200 miles so the prep shouldn’t be to onerous.

Thanks! It's concerning that C4N looks like baby food, and that the "real code" can't be matched. Would the real Energetic Yellow please stand up?!
 
I’ve noted before that there are several different yellows on our cars, but if one looks at the S badges and the boot blob (grille blob on the '21), it’s a greenish yellow, while that on the wheel center caps and the edge bands of the Power Spoke rims is closer to a Bright or Daytona (Corvette) Yellow.

Looks like New Jersey member aottley there seems to have figured it out. No hardware mods needed other than a pair of OE or aftermarket (Chinese) Euro taillights with the separate amber turn signal (the horizontal bar in the Union flag). The vertical and horizontal bars in the North American lights are internally bonded and no coding will separate them; OTOH in the Euro lights they are separate, and addressable on the bus with a coding modification. This coding in Expert mode is more intricate than we were looking for, but if you’ve used Expert before it doesn’t look daunting.

If anybody here has the OE Euro taillights (or the Chinese ones with separate horizontal amber turn signals) and decides to try it out, let us know.

I'm saving up for the OE units, but right now it’s the shipping that kills. It’d be cheaper for me to use some flight benefits and pick them up in person in Germany!
 
One of the first things I fixed on my R53 once it was running was to put proper rear lights on it.
F56 ones are a lot more expensive.

Awesome awesome! Haven't actually dug into that anymore as of late. I will be trying the coding on mine likely this Wednesday when I have some free time. I have the same aftermarket/Chinese smoked tail lights that the original poster in that thread has. I'll report back on my results.
 
Please let us (well, me) know how it goes! I’m rekindling a plan for a European trip that got back-burnered in 2020, and may stop in at original-autoparts.com's place in either Munich or Cologne along the way.

I tried ordering some GP3 lights from them, but the site wouldn't play ball with my card.
 
But seriously though, they want €100+ for shipping? Yeah nah. For that kind of money I may as well pay to take a two-hour side trip the next time I’m in Europe.

This worked for me! Thank you for sharing, I swapped the cables and did the coding.

One question, does anyone know what coding to use so the Union Jack flag stays on during the day like DRL’s. I know BimmerCode offers the app coding but not sure which to select. Also is it possible to code the Union Jack as a brake light also. My Vland taillights only illuminate the bar when I brake.
 
It's called "Daytime Running Light Tail Lights Outer Part" and "Daytime Running Light Tail Lights Inner Part" under BDC_BODY.
 
I set mine on my first weekend with the car; on other BMW or VAG apps it might be called "Scandinavian DRL" because they're required in Scandinavia.
