How many miles on your Mini SE?

Yes. I bought a signature base SE. My previous paid off car was averaging about 25 miles per gallon and fuel was my biggest expense. Now I have a new car and I’m spending the same amount of money every month if not less With a car payment and electricity. With how much I drive an electric car was the best value proposition to replace my paid off but reliable old Volvo.

I see myself transitioning into a job that will really only require a bike commute within the next couple years, but for the next year and a half or so it’ll be 25k or so miles per year.

It would be interesting to compare the average of these data to that of a typical ICE driver. If similar (as eyeball analysis suggests), it would provide additional support for the argument that the SE's range is adequate for most drivers.

(Alternatively, you could argue that SE drivers are just more tolerant of spending time "refueling", but that seems implausible given that most probably charge overnight at home.)

I'd like to chime in with my $.02.

I expect to drive about 2,500 miles a month on average. I drive around DC-MD-VA and my kids live about 50 miles outside of DC with their Mom most of the time. I find that I need to use the high-speed pay-to-play chargers when I do more than just a quick round trip to the burbs to pick the kids up or drop them off. I plug in at home on my Grizzl-E Classic level 2 charger.

Probably 90% of my driving is complete charge at home. In short, my driving patterns are near identical to my paid off, high mileage but reliable ICE vehicle that got 23-25 mpg (which I sold as my down payment on my base SE). I believe that the range of the SE is perfectly adequate for most drivers in my area. According to my calculations, my monthly spend on operating the Mini with the car payment (electricity, car payment, maintenance) are the same as it was to operate and own my Volvo s60 (maintenance and fuel) that was totally paid off.
 
Wattson has 8,483 miles after 23 months.

Note that my daily commute was 0 miles until April of this year due to working from home during that time.

I'm working with @yoomini on a shared google sheet. I was trying to get fancy with a form that prompts you for your info and updates the existing line in the spreadsheet. So it's taking a little work to get the scripting right (I'm learning scripting language). If I can't get it running like we want soon, I'll give up and just slap a shared Sheets doc out there for people to update.
 
We've had our MINI just under 10 months (bought Nov 6, 2021) and are at 10,083 miles. It is being driven much more than any of our other vehicles. The RAV4 Hybrid is our family car and is number 2 (now at 31,000 in 3 yr 2 mo). The MINI is chosen for most drives that are just one or two of us.

We're enjoying the MINI so much and I'm driving so little, I sold my 2021 Camaro LT1 because I wasn't driving it--only 2,200 miles in 11 months. Miss having it, don't miss paying for it.

I've never thought about the word "mileage" before. In metric using, English speaking countries (so most of the English speaking world) is the word still "mileage"?
