Or, maybe just cut a wire to it (an old-school response, for sure, but I am a senior citizen)? (Of course, that might have other, unexpected consequences too, but it would surely shut off that speaker.)

Haha I mean a slightly less drastic approach would be to just unplug it... but you'll definitely get an error code on the dash every time you start the car
 
Swapping the speaker with a resistor would probably fix the error code as the car would think it’s feeding energy to a speaker.

I would definitely try to cover it first though.
 
My adapter came today, so I tried the 4 different wav files for the pedestrian warning. Opted for the 4th bc it's not as loud as the first 3.

Looking forward to spending more time investigating w the other options.

Had trouble getting my phone to connect via Bluetooth, but realized that I could just start the bimmercode app once my phone had my adapter stored as previously connected device, and it worked.

Ha, ha! You might be right about the permanent error code, but sometimes the simplest answer is the one that works!

My own favorite experience for automotive error notices is (from many years ago now) my wife's Nissan Maxima used to tell her in a pleasant, sort of sing-song (recorded) voice of some woman, "Your right door is ajar ... your right door is ajar."
 
Has anyone messed with the new ABRP live data feature yet? It’s supposed to read from the OBD and give you an accurate GOM. Haven’t tried yet though.
 
For the acoustic warning you can set one of the buttons to turn it off when you want very easily. I like being able to go in stealth mode, but when in a parking lot with a bunch of kids it's good to be able to switch it back on.

The forward acoustic warning can be permanently disabled (you need to tell BimmerCode your car is an i3 to get the remember setting option) but the reverse acoustic warning needs to be disabled each time (if setting is set to be remembered, you need to turn it on then back off)

I attempted my first two changes yesterday. Those warning messages that display about systems being disabled when the app is coding are disturbing. But all seems well! No more seat belt reminder klaxon upon startup, and default driving mode is now Sport. Starting up without that horrible seat belt chime is really nice. I'll get into more changes this week.
 
I noticed one thing with the default Sport mode at startup setting - the ambient light does not automatically change to red to match the dashboard sport lighting. Even if I toggle to Mid and then back to Sport. I have the lighting set to change based on driving mode. Has anyone else played with this setting? The mismatched lighting actually bothers me a bit, and I may change the default back to Mid if it won't work.

I've changed my lighting to blue. Red made me think it was a warning message that something was amiss.

Yes, same problem here. I remember posting something about it months ago but my solution was just to pick a color and stick with it. Changing to sport mode every time I powered on the car was more annoying than the color of the lights (to me)

I will probably opt to go with a different color and turn off the 'color based on driving mode option'. Thanks!
