Wife is considering an EV3 to replace her Kona.

The Kona is a lease - we have to turn it in at the end of the month. And the residual is too much - more than the car is worth. We leased due to the loophole in the 7500$ tax credit - no love of leases.

She is working with a dealer to find the color/trim that she wants, and found one that belongs to a different dealer. There is nobody locally that has one in stock to test drive (even wrong color/wrong trim).

Looks like the charge port is on the passenger side by the front fender. This will be a major pain in the ***. I suspect it also has the NACS port which is also a pain in the ***, but adapters exist for a reason.

Would one of these $91 booms from Home Depot help?

Possible. What we have now is the charging cable in the middle of the garage. I can easily reach my ID4, and the Kona charges in the nose, so that one was easy. But a charge port on the passenger side is kind of a pain - we sometimes have limited access for anyone to walk on that side of the garage due to storage racks - sometimes you can sort of squeeze in, and if that's the case, then I guess it is good enough. If my car wasn't in the garage, you could easily squeeze in the middle.

The EVSE is a Juicebox - still limping along with that, but it still works. Eventually I suppose I might replace the ID.4, and when I do, I suppose we could upgrade the EVSE to something with a NACS connector.

The local dealer did find what they claim is a suitable car, but it is allocated to a different dealer. They need to convince the other dealer to do a trade of sorts. My guess is that the can question isn't even at the other dealer - either still in transit or maybe at a port of entry. That's kind of my guess given that very few cars seem to be at dealers yet. Still no word on that or if the other dealer will give up the car.

The tricky bit seems to be the color. She is leaning towards the 'Land' trim. She doesn't want grey or black. Could tolerate white, but of the colors available, that's kind of her last choice. Her 1st choice is the blue. At the moment, you can't test drive the car (even wrong trim/color), and eventually it would be nice to be able to do that to make sure there aren't any deal-breakers.

Her Kona goes back at the end of the month. If we had to make do with just my car for a period, we could do that, but it would eventually get old.

If the other dealer won't give up the car, I guess we could go out of state and just buy it if it isn't too far away. A little more paperwork, but it would be way easier if we could deal with a local dealer.

Just got a call from dealer - they have a Wind in stock that we can test drive. Might have just come in. Trying to clear our calendar so we can go look at it. Dealer is closed on Sunday..

What is weird is that the port of entry is listed as "Tampa Bay". Other cars at other dealers in the area show port of entry as Philadelphia, which is kind of a day trip for us.
