What your SE will be worth 3-4 years later when any EV have 250 miles range ?

In 96 I bought a neighbor's 92 Legend Coupe that was coming off lease with 10,000 miles. When someone told me it had 200 HP I was impressed. Very impressed because only about 10 years earlier the Z/28 T/A had a whopping 150 HP with their V8s, and my six year old RX-7 convertible had only about 135 HP.

Now, how many new cars sold in the states come with less than 150 HP? Are the cars with less than 200 HP worthless?

Mine will be all the money saved that I'm not spending on gasoline - at the very least. I've typically driven used European, high-mileage cars that required little maintenance that I could drive for a bit, maintain mostly myself, then sell for a break even. My fuel cost is usually my greatest cost since I drive about 1,700 to 2,000 miles a month at 24-25 mpg in and around Washington, DC. Then maintenance usually includes traditional tune-ups, oil and fluid changes, running my own diagnostics and fixing small mechanical and electrical problems, etc.. My cost of maintenance and gas will probably be pretty similar to my new car payment on the 2023 SE I just ordered at the beginning of March. I'm not so concerned about depreciation as I am utility and month to month expenses. Even if the car is worth 10 grand after 5 years I still will have saved money versus my typical MO when it comes to cars.
