What to believe now?

When I owned TSLA stock, I was more interested. Today, I have two EVs, prime and backup, and don't really care if anyone else decides to go that way. I share my experience if asked but I'm not a "Karen:"
  • $24,000 new, Tesla with trade-in credit for last Prius (no tax incentive)
  • $15,000 used, BMW i3-REx with no tax incentive
  • 1/3d the cost per mile of my last Prius, a plugin
    • free solar miles within 100 miles of home
    • ~$2.50/100 miles if I buy utility company power
    • $3 - $4/100 miles on cross country trips
  • ABC - Always Be Charging means overlap biology breaks, shopping, and motels with free charging
  • Tesla does the driving and I enjoy the ride
    • first segment ~3 hours and 200 miles
    • subsequent segments ~2 hours, 120-130 miles with 15 minute charging and biology breaks
  • 7 years, 175,000 miles
    • failed coolant valve replaced $9k battery at 140,000 miles
