Really interesting topic! For whatever reason I'm a bit surprised by the median age so far, but I've never met a Mini EV driver in the wild, so I had no frame of reference. I'm 32. This is my first Mini and essentially my first EV, since I only had my Chevy Bolt for a couple of months before it got recalled and bought back.

As I don’t want to be hit from parents I understand safety concerns among parents as reasons for opting to drive their kids with big SUV as safety is a big concern During the arrival and dismissal because it’s chaos in school
The SUVs are actually the main reason that traffic fatalities are increasing in the USA

I'm a little surprised to be one of the younger old farts at 55. The only SE driver that I've met in the wild looked in her mid 20s. Porsches? I sometimes go to PCA autocross events. I was 10th fastest out of 26 drivers at the last event. A lot of them seemed bemused. At regular autocross events, the Porsche drivers are far better at kicking my ***.

early 40's,
I drove a '89 Jeep Cherokee, '95ish Saturn SL1 manual, and a 2005ish Subaru SX4 (4WD!) and my wife (seen here) has a 2013 Fiat 500 (which we still have and is surprisingly fun)

So lots of exotic gas cars (lol), but our Mini SE is the (my) dream car that I never knew would exist. So fun!!!

47 here currently...

Locally for Mini drivers I see more young than older interestingly enough

40-ish, first EV, first Mini. Picked it up as I needed compact but fun to drive car and have conditioned garage.

I'm almost 70. We had an R50 that we swapped out for the SE, and also own an R56. The R50
was still the favorite. It is interesting how the BMI on these just keeps increasing.

Assuming you mean Body Mass Index, I'm so glad when BMW decided to do an electric retrofit of the F56, they didn't abandon the back seat and weigh down the car with a 250-mile battery pack (see the 100-mile 2009 MINI E below).

I hope the MINI Electric concept survives until the advent of affordable, lightweight, solid-state batteries. If I had a choice to replace my MINI Cooper SE's battery with a 100-lb lighter 110-mile solid-state battery or a same-weight 200-mile solid-state battery, I'd choose the lighter one. However, I would still buy any new MINI Electric they bring to North America if it weighs no more than my SE.

On the other side of 65, my first Mini or EV, been driving 60/70's muscle cars, I wanted a 2 door (without having to get a Mustang, already had many of those.....) and SE fit the bill, with all the rebates etc......
I still find it amazing that my SE could easily blow away, at least 0-60, almost any stock 60's muscle car and is heavier to boot......

As im 74 old as driving EV for 9 years will be interesting how old are people driving EVs? Is new generations or like me switch from Porsches to EV s ?after retired I decided to drive EV as I sold my expensive gas cars

68. Bought the second Mini Coupe sold in Utah back in 2002. Driven 911 Porsches, M3 BMWs, Nismo Zs, two Mini Coupes, Honda S2000s. My Mini EV is more fun.

32 and husband who also drives an SE is 37. We have never come across another SE locally, but the other ICE MINIs we see tend to be college age types or middle aged men. I give them all the wave and about 75% wave happily back.

43 y/o. First EV and first Mini (although I've driven a few R50's and R56's over the years and I always liked them). Long time SAAB owner, but it was getting harder and harder to daily 20+ year old European cars from a defunct brand, sadly. Now my kid was old enough that having a 2-door wasn't wildly impractical, so I went for it! I've owner a pretty wide variety of cars for my age...MGB, Volvo 240, Isuzu Trooper, Audi 4000 quattro, first gen Subaru Legacy and quite a few SAAB turbos of various generations from the '80s to '07.

Bought my 2022 in November with 14K on it, now have just over 20K on it with a L2 charger at my house (my daily commute is about 40 miles round trip on mostly 2 lane roads). It's the perfect commuter and I can't wait to take it to a local club autocross in a few weeks!

Winter range here in northern VT with snow tires got down to about 80-85 miles some days on the Guess-o-meter, but it was still never an issue.
