What about the infamous Mini rattles and creaks?

I just read through this thread to determine how many SE owners have a glove box creak/squeak/rattle. My 2022 has recently developed an annoying creak, especially on less-than-smooth surfaces. I tightened several TORX screws and lubricated the latch mechanism with limited improvement. Empty or full, the glove box makes the noise. Pressure on the upper portion when driving seems to help. Otherwise, the car remains tight and a joy to drive. Any thoughts?

My 5-year old SE's glove box doesn't make any noises, but it has only 24K miles on the ODO. I wonder if forums for non-electric MINIs might have some advice? InsideEVs is the only forum I visit regularly, so I wouldn't know where else to seek an answer.

I’m surprised no one complains about rattles in their Mini. Many journalists testers in Canada and US noticed the Mini SE had rattles, even with low mileage.
In fact, that’s the one thing that stops me from buying one after reading many reports saying so.
What about yours?
I'm at about 50,000 miles, and I haven't noticed any rattles. The automatic blinds on the front are sensitive to any sort of unintended events, but the car feels solid to me. (2023 mini se iconic) built early 2023

I have 16,000 on my 23 SE and have devloped no rattles. As far as other Mini products - my 2015 Countryman with 107,000 has no rattles other a little metal part on the phone holder. My 2003 did have some rattles which I blame on the plasticy dash and the fact that it was only the 2nd year of the BMW Mini. The other 4 I have owned have been pretty rattle free. Possibly at my age I am just not hearing them :D - no seriously - rattle free

I’m still trying to isolate the “buzzing” over rougher surfaces. This does not appear to be a cold weather issue as it occurs even above 60 degrees. On a local trip yesterday, I applied pressure on the trim (two locations including the piano black) near the passenger foot well and to the left of the glove box. The effort temporarily eliminated the sound. I’ll continue my quest. Thanks for the comments.

Did you get the cabin air filter replaced recently?

You can try removing the glove box (5 torx 20 screws, 3 above door and 2 below door, hidden behind plastic covers) and behind you will see whole bunch of wiring harness, antenna cable etc., that could be rubbing up against something, I had box out a few times while routing Charging Cable to rear window. Just be careful of the plug to glove box light and on the RH side there is another plug. With glove box out, if the noise goes away, then you know it was possibly something rattling on the box. Have you tried removing the fuse box access panel, which is at the back of the glove box, try leaving that off and see if noise goes away.......
