I had the valves adjusted this week at Norm Reeves Honda, owing to the impending expiration of a 15% service discount coupon and my expertise and knowledge base being in 20 yr old Jaguars. I lumped in the oil change and tire rotation, too, even though I have filters and the means and capability to accomplish those tasks. The 15% savings was sufficient to make pizza & beer with a friend a more valuable use of my time vs. ramps and jacking and impact wrenching on it. Many thanks to him for knitting round to pick me up and drop me back off when the service was completed.
Of course, they suggested a $349 spark plug renewal, as well as intake and cabin air filter renewals. I declined, via text, offering that I had stock in both filters as well as 4 Bosch plugs awaiting the arrival of my "round-to-it." No complaints from dealer service that the Bosch would not be sufficient. During pickup, I admitted to the service advisor that I had every intention of renewing both filters last weekend as a "test" for them, but simply got too involved in watching college football despite my team being on a bye-week!
Car has 107K miles on it, MY 2019, I obtained it in July, 2022 with 96.6K. I'll post pics of the new Bosch and whatever comes out of it when I get around to making the change.
