I could have hooked up the TV to the V2L, but there was no point,
Loss of internet here is a regular occurrence. I have a chunk of RG6 about 3' long with the regular coax end plugged into an input on the TV, stripped the other end with several alligator clipped leads (about 3' off the center pin and another 3' attached to the grounded shield to make a 6' long vertical "antenna" adjustable quite easily with the alligator clips if need be. Program that TV input for "air" reception, do a search and you will be surprised the quality and quantity of channels still broadcasting over the air digitally, no need for modems etc.
I receive about 11 channels- mostly American, but I was able to watch the somewhat dismal performance Canucks game last night.
BTW I just used a small inverter for the power including my wood burning fireplace insert fan motor for heat. It will be more convenient when my new Kona EV arrives c/w the same 1.8kW V2L capability. ;)

Hmmm, yeah, had forgot about that. I actually have an antenna that I bought some years ago that is supposed to pick up stations pretty good here on the Lower Mainland. Need to try that sometime.

We have a couple of gas fireplaces, and lit one of them, in the family room where we would watch TV. It kept that part of the house warm and the light from the fire was enough so you didn't need any extra lighting there. Seemed quite cozy actually. Would have been just fine if we could have watched something on the TV.

Another thing I didn't like was having to run the cord from the V2L through the inside garage door. Not being able to close it tight, allowed quite a bit of cool air to flow in there from the unheated garage. Luckily it was not very cold yesterday, so it didn't affect the house temp too much. But I should make something up to fit on the end of the door with just room on the bottom for the cord, to seal it off tighter. Maybe a long piece of foam cut to fit. The door has a spring on the hinges to hold it tight shut.

Re your insert fans, we have a wood stove for heating at the cabin. It has a couple of fans to distribute heat. However, no power is needed for them, as they have a little generator motor that when heated up by the stove turns the fans. Works really well. Can get them at Princess Auto.
