Does anyone know how to cancel your reservation? There's no number to call for cancellation as far as I can tell.
Call the concierge.
After talking with a Hyundai concierge just now, I agree that we won't have any influence over trim or color. It sounded like the cars will be allocated to the dealers, not to us. Our pre-order just gets us on a priority list to either pick the dealer's best match to what we want, or else wait for something else to come in.
All we can do for sure is designate a dealership. Whether that gives us any leverage on price depends on whether our pre-orders add to the dealer's own allocation, or whether the pre-orders come out of their allocation. That would be helpful to know.
I had a conversation this week at a dealership that marks up everything on the lot. A salesman said that they'd call me first but I still had to beat everyone else down there, and there would be a markup. While he was talking, another salesman checked with the manager and came back with the word, and the word was "MSRP." That sounds like they want my designation. But I'd want to see it in writing.
What's the reservation for then? It literally has no effect. Not surprised, though.
