Hello, 2018 plug in with 126K. CARB car with 150K warranty. I am getting 35Ah reading. I have the service bulletin that says that if car is under 36.6Ah and still under warranty they should honor the 10yr/150K warranty. There are several people on the Clarity facebook apps and other forums that have had their warranty claim denied because they don't have CEL's and they claim that they don't know where Service Bulletin 17-093 came from. Has anyone had success getting their battery replace due to threshold reading below 36.6 Ah alone? I attached the bulletin.
Under the 36.6 Ah threshold. Anyone get honda to replace traction battery without check engine lights?

If you take it to a dealer... Be very aware that many can and will just reset the reading instead of dealing with the warranty claim.
All ready had that happen twice..said battery was great! not sure if intentionally deceptive or just didn't know how to get to the battery readings on their scanner.

Best of luck to you trying to get the battery replaced, I would set it up myself to personally show the dealer your AH reading so they cant mess it up. And if one dealer says no try another. I just passed the end of my 120k mile extended warranty and live in Florida, plus my ah reading is stuck at 54.98 since early May, so I know it won't happen for me. I should be around 41 ah.

@meooem22 , how many kWh does it take to fully recharge your battery from zero miles remaining (completely discharged)? Also, how many EV only miles are you getting on a full charge?

It's going to be an uphill battle to get dealers to authorize a replacement if there is no CEL. I mentioned in another post:

The P0A7F and P1DC7 combination appears to be the primary basis, and by far the most common reason, on which Honda authorizes battery pack replacements. This leads me to believe that the vehicle’s computer ultimately determines whether the degradation is considered abnormal."
Good luck and don't give up. Why don't you contact Honda to see if they can help? You might be the first person I've ever known to get it successfully replaced based on degradation alone!

Much like some of our vehicles report erroneously high Ah when checked (the Ah reset behavior), I am starting to be suspicious that some vehicles similarly can report erroneously low Ah without the battery really being that degraded. This would explain why no other codes are set with these low readings. This is why I asked the kWh needed to fully recharge the battery and the experienced EV range. At 36.6 Ah, the charging kWh should be around 9.6 kWh or so. I'd expect EV miles to be in the upper 20s/low 30s. If so, this would give some evidence that the actual battery capacity is truly below 36.6 Ah.

I spent most of the day trying to get my 2018 Clarity Battery Pack Capacity number from the local dealership. Third call later with "it's fine", the 17-093 Service bulletin posted here was very helpful. The service advisor was able to look up this service bulletin on his computer and print out page 13 for the technician. Although I have only been getting 34 estimated EV mileage on my car dash with the gas engine coming on often during city drive, the Battery Pack Capacity returned at 41.4 so no warranty. Page 13 also notes that the DTC will not be activated. I have 4 more months left on my 8 year warranty (Florida). So I'll be checking again in the next few months.
Interestingly, the service advisor said he had only one Clarity that came in with bad batteries and they should have been under warranty, but Honda said they did not have any batteries for replacement. Those owners replaced their car, not sure what Honda did for them. The service advisor said the owners never mentioned the settlement, but they bring in their new care for service.
