Tips, Tricks and Secrets?

I just discovered something new on my SE, which I've had for 2.5 years!

I don't know if anyone else knows of this, but it's subtle and neat. The window controls actually have two modes:
  • Light press (open or close) – window will move until you stop pressing.
  • Full press (open or close) – window will completely open/close on its own even when you stop pressing.
(This is how my 2021 SE works, I can't say it's still the case for the post-chip shortage builds.)
In fighter jet control terminology, those are called "half action" and "full action."

The physical cruise control buttons do it, too: half for 1 MPH increase or decrease; full for 5 MPH.

Yes, my previous Mini did that too. So did/do some Hondas we have had.

All my previous cars over the past 21 years have had this (both of them!). :)

It seems like my SE's switches have more delicate action (but not breakable) than my previous 2015 F56, maybe that's why I didn't notice it until now. My other MINIs are/were R55 Clubmans, with window toggles in the lower center that you have to hold to keep the window moving.

Then there's the second press of the button after the window is open to get it to go down the last quarter-inch.
