I detected many aluminum components and panels today and started searching it up. The Clarity is a technological and engineering gem. I’m impressed with its many advanced materials under its skin.

Has anyone found other sources giving more specifics of what Honda has done inside that is special? Eg, I noticed even the rear trunk deck is aluminum.

You are correct, the construction of the Clarity is very special indeed. Here are some slides from Honda:

We'll I appreciate that they explained why a sunroof isn't an option. I agree with them 100%, this vehicle is engineering at its best. In the future we are not likely to see all of these features included, this truly is a spec model that is incorporating tons of features to see how they work in the real world while the tax breaks are out there.

Here's some more technical explanation from Honda stemming from their Fuel Cell journey that explains their engineering & design teams' thinking on their design choices that our PHEV version inherited. Very enlightening!

Good find! As a special bonus, the last photo shows a gorgeous red gen 1 Insight like mine (our Clarity is my wife's car). The detractors of the shape of the Clarity's rear-wheel opening must really hate my car's even more aerodynamic spats!
