Can I ask these questions here or is there another more appropriate forum?
Does anyone know if there is any way to:
1. Delete the Sounds of Nature from the System (Besides Bleach Bit and a Hammer). I hate the Sounds of Nature. They are useless to me.
2. Turn off or Delete the car constantly searching for EV Charging Stations which obviously must use battery power to search thus reducing the Mileage Range. I have a Charger in my Garage and I am sick and tired of the car telling me where I can find a charger which I will never use.

1. We asked the dealer about turning Sounds of Nature off and they researched it and couldn't find a way. Nor could I. It is incredibly irritating.
2. The car has an internal database of charging stations and doesn't search. It compares your GPS location with the internal database. Very little power.
I have never had the car tell me where to find a charger unless my map destination exceeds my range or I ask for it. Maybe you could explain how it occurs?

I heard it once when the map got updated and wasn't impressed. This is how how I shut it on /off
To turn on...start on car, let it boot up... push Media button and you will hear it, if you shut off the car and restart it will remember and it will come on again (just like the radio).
To turn off.. push the pause button (the one displayed on the Media screen), then turn on the radio by pushing the top left radio button, then use the lower left power push/ volume push button to turn off the radio- the display will read Radio/Media Off. (the car will remember if radio or media was on or off upon restart)

I found a way of Avoiding Sounds of Nature. When I was on the SON Screen I saw an Icon or Button to go to my Blue Tooth Android Phone that was Connected to the Car. I tapped on it and it took me to My Phones Blue Tooth Connection or to the Media Page. Not sure. This all happened about 3 weeks ago and I can't remember the Details. But ever since then when I push the Media Button which is just to the right of the Radio Button, it takes me to the Media Screen which plays music or voice I might be listening to on my phone or even a YouTube Video. I have never seen the Sounds of Nature Again. It hasn't been deleted. It just never opens which is a blessing.

ScanGage has the software to show several parameters during operation such as Batt Voltage, Current in/out, SOC, Temp of motor. I have mine plugged into the ODB port all the time, can watch actual charge current.
 
Hello, guys. I'm going to start using Kona electric very soon, so maybe someone would answer me two simple questions:
1. Why have I to use an external AC charger, if there is one under the hood (7,4kW)? I have standard european 3-phase wall outlet in my garage, so it would be nice to use only a proper cable. I know, I am not right, but why?
2. I have been looking for the part number of that polystyrene foam container located at the very bottom of the trunk (in the spare tyre room), who perfectly fits as a frunk. It would be nice to buy one to use under the hood and leave the original on it's place. I found those bigger flat foam container directly located under the trunk's floor, but not the deeper one. Someone something about?
 
The external unit is not actually a charger, though often referred to as such. It's an EVSE (EV Supply Equipment) /chargepoint. All it does is tell the onboard charger how much power it's allowed to draw, connect/disconnect power as requested by the OBC, and provide safety protection.
If you have a 3-phase supply, and a 3-phase OBC ( as fitted to 2020 model Kona) , you need a 3-phase 11kw (16A) EVSE - this can be plugged into your existing 3-phase outlet

What Mike said. I might add that I've looked inside one of these, big hefty EVSE units and they are mostly air. I don't understand why they're priced the way they are, but it's quite a racket IMO.

In the U.S., the included 120v cord (which is, of course, a real EVSE) is rated for 240v so can deliver 2.8 kW using a simple adapter (which can be dangerous if used for anything else). I don't know how much power is delivered by the EVSE cord that's included with the vehicle in Europe.

Select Type 2/ type 1 plug as appropriate - for US probably type 1.
Don't know if the 2020 Kona in US has 3-phase, if not then you're probably limited to about 7kW single-phase. If unsure, pop off the plastic engine cover and look at the rating plate on the charger.

For some reason wallbox versions are significantly more expensive.

No, it's the upper one. There is one more deeper, like that: https://www.speakev.com/threads/kona-gets-a-frunk.127544/#lg=attachment_xfUid-1-1606241149&slide=0. I read somewhere there is no such part in 2020 American specification, but I know, in European is. So I need a part number.

I found such mobile chargers there in Poland, some types in reasonable prices (though higher than Alibaba prices), for AC/230 Volt (1-phase) and AC/400 Volt. Why wallboxes are pricey? Do not know, maybe they have more options, maybe have better design. Some are even 5-6 times more expensive. DC chargers -- OK, it's clear. But wallboxes, don't know why.

The cheap EVSEs are all Chinese that most likely don't have EU safety certification. They are probably mostly fine but there is a cost associated to getting a product properly certified. The Chinese EVSE will claim CE certification but don't be fooled by what is essentially a self certification.
I use a Chinese EVSE and so far so good but I have no illusions that they don't cheap out proper construction or inferior materials whenever they feel they can get away with it.

Well, Chinese chargers, as almost everything, are cheapest, I guess. But there are some Polish or British products too (f.i. Enelion or Rolec). Enelion is more sofisticated (and more expensive) as is mostly designed to work in networks managed by Internet, but Rolec offers quite inexpensive wallboxes (almost as cheap as Chinese Zencar), claiming it is produced in UK. Besides, there are some Polish companies (startups) who offer complex service, not only for home users, but also for small bussiness or companies using EV fleets and they take more responsibility for what they are selling and servicing, even if it is just Chinese product. So it's less possible they sell just a crap, I hope ;-)

Got a New Question? Does anybody know how to unmute the radio while the car is backing up? I have read all the books and manuals until my eyeballs are falling out and never seem to find the answers to my questions. Most YouTube videos are about test driving the car. And when I call Hyundai Tech support they don't know much more than I do. Their favorite answer is for me to ask my Hyundai service manager. I'm going to start looking at the Hyundai YouTube channel. Did you ever get your "unmute the radio" question answered? If not, let me know. I stumbled across the answer while playing around today when I picked up my vehicle.
 
Never did find the answer. I figured it was a safety issue. In case I am about to back over a person I would need to hear them scream "Stop" instead of listening to the radio. I can live with this. But I would like to see your answer.

Hi Bob - finally found this again. There is a priority setting to uncheck under Sounds in the media settings. If you click the Media button to the left of the screen, then touch "menu" on the touch screen, then touch "Sound Settings" from the drop down, then touch "Priority" you can then uncheck "Proximity Warning." I have left mine checked because I agree, it's a safety issue and is a good idea.
