Standards for Electric Car Chargers

So are we all going to have to buy Tesla adapters soon? No, wait, Joe and Elon don't get along. So all Tesla owners (and old Leaf owners) will have to buy CCS adapters soon.

I know the Tesla plug is sleeker, but I think the EV community (including Tesla) would be better served if they switched to CCS ports on their cars and transitioned the Supercharger network to it as well.

Hoping history doesn't repeat itself. I was a Betamax fan (far superior to VHS. I'm already committed to CCS now.
 

Elon normally (but not always!) delivers on his promises in terms of tech. He rarely delivers on a schedule or cost (in this case, neither are promised. Convenient. )

This would be great to see. I would love to see it taken a step farther though. In Europe, Tesla ships cars with CCS ports. Imagine if they did that in North America. Nissan is dropping CHAdeMO with the Ariya, so we would see a convergence on a single connector. Every EV could be charged at every station. No need for extra redundant cables, adapters, etc. It is not just a pipe dream!
