Sta-bil and Fuel Stabilizers

If a car is only slightly driven over a period of a few months- does it make sense to add Sta-bil to the gas tank?

In the case of the Clarity- would it make sense to use hybrid mode more often to drain the tank faster and add Sta-bil before a complete fill up? Could Sta-bil damage fuel system components on the Clarity?

In my experience cars are not as sensitive to stale gas compared to smaller engines like powersports and string trimmers, chainsaw etc which have very small carb openings.

With that said if you think it'll take 6 months to go through a tank of fuel, don't see how they could hurt if properly diluted for smaller tank our cars have.
 
The label on Sta-bil states that it is safe for use in all gasoline engines, including 2-strokes. The Honda Owners manual, to the best of my knowledge, is silent on the matter of fuel stabilizers.

When does fuel go bad? That’s sure to be an endless debate full of anecdotal stories that support a variety of opinions.

Adding a stabilizer is unlikely to cause harm to the fuel system. The car isn’t that special. If you’re adding a few gallons every few months it probably isn’t necessary. If those 7 gallons last for 12 months, it may be worth considering.

Just put in the regular ounce-per-5-gallons or whatever the label says. At worst you've wasted $1 per the 8-9 tanks of gas the bottle will last you.
 
Clarity fuels tank is pressurized so fuel will last longer than a regular car. Even so fuel stabilizer is worthwhile and cheap insurance for all engines.

Sta-bil or other fuel stabilizers will significantly slow down the aging of fuel but will not reverse it. So adding fuel stabilizer to old gas will not make it better but adding fuel stabilizer to fresh gas will keep it in good shape for far longer.

Adding fuel stabilizer before filling the tank is recommended but not required. The fuel stabilizer will mix and diffuse throughout the tank after a period of time anyway.

Wanting to maximize electric use over gasoline is the desire of most PHEV owners but running the engine for a little while most weeks is probably a good thing.
