Software updates

I have had 5 to 6 BEV cars. All of them received updates to the software. Some more than others. My 2020 Tesla Model X has probably gotten 25 over the air updates. My 2017 Chevy Bolt 1, my 2011 Kia Soul 0, My 2017 Volvo XC90 Plugin got at least 5.
Has there been any updates on the Mini Cooper SE?

Yeah, the software update that prevents MINI Cooper SE batteries from catching fire.

Mini/BMW and some others usually try to deliver solid software, unlike Tesla which uses their customers as betta testers. So the mini software seems to function as designed.

In fairness the F56 was already a 6 year old platform in 2019/2020 so there were many hardware and software updates:
- DCT gear selector and various exterior trim updates
- Union jack brake light update
- NBT-EVO Headunit change for touchscreen
- native Apple Carplay integration

Then there was another update in MY2022:
- MINI Connected operating system
- Headlamp update with foglamp integration (matrix headlights only for EU)
- air curtain aerodynamic update for improved range
- various trim updates for grille and side scuttles
- heated steering wheel with revised buttons
- ACC stop & go cruise control
- ambient light updates
- updated headunit and standard 8.8inch display

BMW and MINI does allow for some coding changes so you can make minor tweaks like enabling AM radio, removing disclaimer notifications on startup, etc.

MINI finally added over-the-air updates with the new generation OS 9, but not the F56 MINI Connected software.

There have been MINI Connected software updates, the 2022 LCI came with all-new software. But the software update machine dealers use seem to go by VIN, so they only load the software version that came with the vehicle. Very frustrating. The only option is to go with a third-party option like https://www.bimmer-tech.net/products-mini-connected-software-update-evo.

As for sanctioned updates, the only ones I got from the dealer were the 3G sunset update, and the aforementioned battery fire protection.
