Since everything changed in mid-March, I hadn't seen a single Clarity in 3 months instead of my usual 1-2 a day (in addition to a couple charging at work). Granted, I'm working from home and out driving maybe 5 miles a week now instead of 200, but still.

Well yesterday while out running a 3 mile errand, I saw not one but TWO Clarity! I refrained from honking, but may have been waving and shouting a bit more than normally appropriate at the first one :-)

Do both next time!

I've been told that there are at least two other Clarities in Mississippi, but I've only ever seen one of them - and that was at a 2019 Drive Electric Day event.

People still ask me what it is: One fellow recognized it but didn't realize it came in three "flavors" - so he asked me several questions about fuel cells...

Odd enough that I thought I would pass it on.
Clarity PHEV pulls into a spot at the local grocery store between the two "Reserved for EV Charging" spots (an open spot anyone can use).
Takes the cord from the Blink station to the left and plugs it into his car. Walks into the store without initiating a charge session (or even trying). When I come out of the store, he is in his car and getting ready to leave, so he was there maybe 15 minutes. Lots of other open spots nearby.

I sometimes see EV's parked in the reserved spots without charging, but this was a first. Oregon law treats any vehicle not engaged in the refueling process and in a spot designated as reserved for charging the same - ICE or EV. Some people seem to treat them as "reserved for EVs" and not reserved for actually charging.

Maybe he thought he was in one of e reserved spots?

Maybe they assumed it was plug-and-go like the Volta (or other purely free) stations.

Anyway, yeah, I see them around probably once or twice a week in Oregon.

We saw a Solar Silver base model, north of Florence OR, at the Heceta Head lighthouse parking lot. We’d parked at the Hobbit Trail trailhead along US 101 and, after the first half of the hike, went down to the parking lot for a nature break before returning. For a second, I thought someone had moved our car for us.

Two nights in a row, in Jacksonville, OR, a black PHEV has been parked a few spots from the Landshark in the VIP parking lot for the Britt Music Festival. Yesterday was Gladys Knight, tonight is Keb Mo.

One of the things I do is drive to my girlfriend's house with my dogs to pick up her and her dog to go to the dog park. The girlfriend lives on a corner with a stop sign

Her dog hears us coming, because I'm going slow enough for the safety sound to be on. He gets excited and starts barking and running around when he hears us.

Turns out there's another Clarity in the neighborhood. It doesn't go by often, but when it does....

I also saw a CA Exempt plate on a Clarity last week. In California, that means that it's registered to a governmental (or governmental adjacent) entity.

Saw a Crimson Clarity pulling into the parking lot at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at around noon. My first in-state sighting "in the wild"!

Getting into my 8th month after moving from LA to Vegas and still hadn't seen a single Clarity here, even from any CA Sunday drivers. I've been stopped a couple of times by people on parking lots asking what kind of car was that and many just keep staring. I recall there was a forum member saying he lived in Vegas, but I forgot who he was.

Yesterday, I saw a white Clarity near the Evergreen Museum in McMinnville, OR. I was in the motorhome and the wife was following in our silver Clarity. At a point where I needed to merge left one lane, a glance in the left mirror revealed what I thought was our Clarity. The dear wife was guarding the lane to assist the maneuver. So I thought. The Clarity in the left lane was gradually gaining on me, which is a breach of protocol. A look over to the rear view camera monitor showed a Clarity directly behind as well. I signaled for a lane change and the stranger in the Clarity allowed me to move over. Here’s a shot prior to our departure 74B44019-7E74-48F5-876E-CF4C1419F605.webp

Last week on I-40, eastbound, in western Tennessee. A white touring and I travelled along together for 50+ miles. It have license plates from Virginia.

I have a silver one. Last week my daughter and I left the supermarket and she went to the wrong Clarity in the next row. LOL. I expect that to happen if it was a Sienna or Odyssey but never a Clarity.

Last week I saw a white Honda Clarity on the evening news. It was waiting in line to cross the border into Canada. The straight top of the rear wheel opening was obvious. Sorry to say, I could not get a screen grab, and the on-line version of the news story omits that scene.

So is this the Clarity's first known appearance on national TV? :)
