Saw a Clarity at...

Spotted a red clarity up at sugarbush resort this morning. If we had brought my clarity instead of the 4wd crv we could have taken over a single EV charging station. I’ll bet that would have been a first!
 
Since everything changed in mid-March, I hadn't seen a single Clarity in 3 months instead of my usual 1-2 a day (in addition to a couple charging at work). Granted, I'm working from home and out driving maybe 5 miles a week now instead of 200, but still.

Well yesterday while out running a 3 mile errand, I saw not one but TWO Clarity! I refrained from honking, but may have been waving and shouting a bit more than normally appropriate at the first one :-)
 
Last week my wife drove our silver Clare to the golf course. After she finished her round she went to our car and couldn't get in. The thing would not unlock! She called me and said I can't get into the F'n car! I said I don't know how to help you. While she paced in frustration she said "I don't believe it, there is another silver Clarity a couple of spaces on the other side of this truck (in between the two Clarity's). I was trying to get into the wrong car.

This is the ONLY Clarity we have seen in Mid Michigan until now. (Never did see @Sandroad driving around town;-)

BTW, it was at Forest Acres in East Lansing if the owner is a member on this forum.

Congratulations! I saw a white Clarity PHEV recently (July 24th) in a rural Texas State Park, of all places. I talked to the owner for a couple of minutes, who said it was his second Clarity -- the first being an all-electric Clarity he had when living in California, before he moved to Texas and acquired the PHEV, which already has 40K miles on the odometer. He allowed as how he loves the car! And I allowed as how I love my 2018 red Clarity PHEV too.

I saw my first Clarity a couple of months ago in Bowling Green, KY. It was silver with California plates. After seeing it, sorta wish I had bought the silver instead of the steel gray. This is the only other Clarity that I have seen since March 2018.
 
Actually saw a car carrier full with them going north on I5. There were plastic wraps over the wheels. I will post a picture from my cam, when I get a chance.
 
I know CA shouldn't count too much for this statistic but what I just saw is a first for me. This morning I counted SIX Clarities in less than an hour within one block at Northridge. Three were charging in the parking lot at the mall one block from my home (two silver, one white). I saw two more passing by while walking around the mall (a red and a black), and then another silver when driving back home. All between 9 and 10 AM.
 
Wow, seeing so many Clarity vehicles in such a short window much be nice. I will say the last 5 times I've traveled from Boston to New York on interstate 95, I've only seen 1 Clarity. They are pretty rare in the Boston area. Cheers.

Thanks! They look like an endangered species outside CA but yesterday's event must have been a fluke even for LA. I saw 2 today on a 45 mile drive along the 101.
 
They're pretty common here in San Diego, and I usually see 2 or 3 any time I'm out running errands, and I'd say the average number of unique Clarity's I see per day is around 6-7. Even my neighbor 2 doors down has one!

Well, that's even better! I'm not aware of any on my immediate neighborhood.

This was the carrier. The plastic over the wheels was something I didn't see before.

I actually saw another one! I live in Northeast Ohio so I thought I was the only one that owned one. It was the same color as mine (silver). We were in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I noticed the daytime running lights, unfortunately, we were in my wife's truck because of a trip to the home improvement store.
 
Odd enough that I thought I would pass it on.
Clarity PHEV pulls into a spot at the local grocery store between the two "Reserved for EV Charging" spots (an open spot anyone can use).
Takes the cord from the Blink station to the left and plugs it into his car. Walks into the store without initiating a charge session (or even trying). When I come out of the store, he is in his car and getting ready to leave, so he was there maybe 15 minutes. Lots of other open spots nearby.

I sometimes see EV's parked in the reserved spots without charging, but this was a first. Oregon law treats any vehicle not engaged in the refueling process and in a spot designated as reserved for charging the same - ICE or EV. Some people seem to treat them as "reserved for EVs" and not reserved for actually charging.

Maybe he thought he was in one of e reserved spots?
 
Normally I wouldn’t report a Clarity when I’m in S California. Today I saw a Clarity that was an official LA City car. Perhaps parking enforcement? It was white. Didn’t get a good enough look to determine which model.

I think we’ve seen the same one. No tinted windows, can’t see what department it’s from. I’ve spotted it a few times after 5am when it’s dark out.
