Yes of course, that’s the real reason I can’t back in to the spot. P2 struggles with this pulling forward.

Not excited about learning to back in through the garage door, but as @Puppethead says it’s easier in this car.

Sort of related: P2 is a new Tesla Model Y. Are those smart enough that the owner could leave it outside the garage, push a button and it would magically park itself perfectly? I was thinking of suggesting that to the neighbor…
 
So, is all of this parking fiasco clearly described in the leasing listing? So, apparently the Hummer owner would simply not even look at it. This unit could only be leased to a Miata or gas powered MINI owner. Maybe an SE; we’ll see. I’m surprised that the AHJ doesn’t have a minimum parking space requirement. Do you mind telling us where this is?

I did that from time to time with a Tesla. It's not 100% accurate so that could become a pain to rely on.
I'm a little curious as to why the spot only fits a tiny car like a Mini Cooper squished against the corner of the garage?

I am just surprised that it was allowed to be built like that in the first place. Most municipalities heavily regulate all aspects of construction including parking.

Well, I got it in there.

The little box at the bottom is the official corner of my spot.

I can move forward a couple more inches, I'm going to put these bumpers down to help me get all the way forward without hitting the front wall.

I'm as close to that side wall as possible, the charge port cover is actually touching it when opened. I'm thinking of this padding to help prevent that.

Getting the charger plugged and removed is pretty awkward but doable.

The hardest part is just backing into the garage from the street, the door isn't that much wider than the car. Practice will help.

That’s really cool! I keep thinking the SE is a “small” car then I remember it’s almost twice the length of my fortwo!! I parked it sideways in our two-car garage one winter, and still had room for the Corolla on that side, and the Accord on the wife’s side (with a workbench in front of it).

The padding is just this stuff.

In the first week of ownership I reversed with the charging flap open, which left a mark on the padding, but gladly did not rip the flap off.

And I have bumped the mirror enough to leave a mark and push it in. But nothing permanent.

For a while I was parking with the mirror folded to try to get _really_ close to the wall, but decided to lay off that.

And I used to creep up super slowly to actually touch the padding on the front wall, but eventually just made a sharpie mark on the side padding to tell me how far to pull up.

After a year+ of practice I've got it ok. Even so I would still love a lower-profile charger.

However my partner has never really practiced, which makes her afraid to drive the car at all. Really should work on that.
