Read Battery Capacity Yourself (Autel AP200 Breakthrough)

Hey @MrFixit, What do you make out of this?
It looks like you are afflicted with the mysterious battery capacity 'reset'...

Read the section entitled "Odd 'Resets' of Battery Capacity" at the bottom of this page:
https://github.com/clarity-phev/Battery-Capacity-Read

You could have gotten a reset up to 55 aH at some point, and have mostly recovered toward the 'correct' value. If you had more readings, it may have been clearer as to exactly what happened.

Thanks MrFixIt for this thread, and everyone for the information. Added the first data point from Idaho, although the car spent its life in Los Angeles.

I realized it's been a year since anyone posted on this thread. Is the Autel MaxiAP AP200 still the recommended method to get a battery capacity read for Honda Clarity (after asking Autel to authorize my AP200 for use with the Honda 2.01.54 Beta diagnostics) or is this no longer functional and I should look for other options, like the one outlined on this thread: Budget Battery Capacity Readout

Thanks in advance for any help.

The only advantage I've noticed with the Autel is that if you do have the Beta Version working that some have managed to program new keys for their Clarity themselves saving a lot of money over going to the dealer.

Yes, this is true (I am one of them)...
Although it has been quite a long time since I have heard of anyone successfully acquiring the Beta version from Autel. So there is a certain risk that Autel may have terminated the courtesy that they had extended to us.

Same here. I was trying to use the app with my new phone and the beta version was not there. I emailed support and was granted access very quickly. I guess it is deactivated after some time but it remains on the phone as long as you don't uninstall the app. I also used the autel to program an extra key fob. I'm not sure if the beta version is necessary for that. You have to be careful about valets adding an extra fob and stealing the car later.

The Beta version was definitely required to program a FOB.
I suppose there is some chance that there have been revisions / updates to the non-Beta AP200 code to add this functionality, but it seems unlikely to me.

I am not sure what you mean about a Valet adding a fob though.
You need 3 things to program another FOB:

1. A new FOB
2. An original FOB
3. An AP200
4. The Beta version of the AP200 code

I have a feeling that it is no easier (or harder) to program a new FOB for any other car.
I don't think Honda Clarities are very well known or very much in demand !

So, my Autel AP200 stopped working. It would pair, but the app refused to read anything with it. Have replaced it with this BT thing and this app and getting readings again. The warranty on the main battery will be up in the last week of April, so was hoping I could get a replacement battery, but no such luck, my battery appears to be in great health after nothing but L1 charging since I got it.
