Range Anxiety Carryover?

Has anyone else owned and driven a different lower range electric vehicle before getting a Kona and then in the Kona is constantly looking at the range, going I hope enough to make it home without recharging despite having way more than enough? Especially on longer trips.

We traded in a 2013 Leaf for the Kona and to say it takes some getting used to the longer range is putting it mildly. So just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
 
The Kona is my first EV and makes it all too easy, plus I didn't realise that I would actual enjoy the ritual of charging. Had I known that I might have instead bought an i3 (120Ah non-rex) to live a bit more on the edge.

Lol, fair enough, we went from Long Beach to Glendale and Burbank and back after I had traveled to and from my work in Torrance three days without recharging first. Having had the Leaf, I knew where a majority of the chargers are, so I wasn't really worried about getting stuck, but not only did we not have to charge, we got back with near 100 miles range left. But we were constantly checking....lol

And this was with the AC running the whole time, In The Leaf, I was lucky to get to and from my work two and a half days with no AC and I was pushing it to make it to a charger.

Nah, I am loving the Kona's range and recharge speed. I do miss the socialising at the chargers, but that is more due to COVID than the charging at the moment.
 
No carryover because it's our first EV. I had only one serious range anxiety. Traveled across Central Oregon. Over 475 miles with two chargers (J1772). Salem to Boise ID. Fine till Bend. Little top up and we were off. Overnight in Burns at the only charger in 260 miles. Temp 25F to start last leg of 185 miles. Doesn't sound bad but there are two passes and no places to charge period. To boot it was our first trip in our car more than around town. We made it and with a little to spare. Echo+ most the way. Now days, I get great comfort in planning trips with tools like abetterrouteplanner.com. It helps to see incline and alternate routes.
 
My ritual at the moment is finding destinations eg self catering places with charging points. Drive near 300 miles, stay overnight and fully charged to boot, possibly with a short top up charge en route.
 
With current models like the Kona, range anxiety isn't an issue any more EXCEPT that the charging infrastructure hasn't kept pace so we tend to still plan around a maximum of only 60-70% of the car's potential between charges. That's a lot of unusable miles/kms, but on the bright side, is now a decent reserve for unexpected detours :)

No - I have been looking at EVs for years, but my main use case was that I needed the car to make a 150 mile trip with no stops for charging.

The Kona was my first EV, so I never got to know range anxiety.. The couple of times that I went on road trips, it took a few minutes of planning charging stops but other than that, I never have worries about range.. My wife has a 94 ah BMW i3 and despite the lower range, she does not have range anxiety with it as she drives more than 80 miles per day very rarely..
