The car also defaults to mid setting, so not sure how these cars are coming back after being updated with the default set at green
I bimmercoded mine to remember where it was last. Its also possible to code it to start in a particular mode. Generally, mine stays in sport. If I need to stretch the range, then I use one of the green modes to kill climate control

Yeah I know that. I coded mine to start in Sport mode, but when I got it back after the battery update, all my coding changes were wiped and it starts in Mid, as it's supposed to according to the manual.

As I never coded my setting as I start a car in sport mode just flipping a switch I wish I don’t have any different settings bc I drive a car only on Sport as the rest is no useful for me and my milage is about 120 miles anyway as I drive on highway or in a week 5- 20 miles daily

There has been another fire. I was contacted by a Mini SE owner in the UK. Their car caught on fire while parked at home

Yeah, without more details and knowing if there was a proper investigation, it's really hard to draw any conclusions about this story.
It was plugged in and charging. Thin white smoke appeared from under the car then huge plume of white smoke and then it caught fire. They have doorbell cam video but aren’t willing to share it as of now.

The recall was apparently not done as it’s not known in UK

Thanks for the additional info.

By "not known", you must mean "not well known", I assume?

Strange.

I had mine in for the battery monitoring update some weeks ago (yes, I have been naughty and skipped that for over 1,5 years of nagging by BMW/Mini in the car screen, in my Mini app, by mail, and even by postal letters - all except personal phone calls), but all my bimmer code settings remained 100% as before the software update (like my auto-fold of mirror, remembering drive mode, and seat heat temp mods, etc).

I even left my OBDLink CX in the OBD-port (they did not complain about it, or my mods). :)

What I did get wiped was the personal settings for the short cut buttons, etc. Had to redo all my short cuts.

My Bimmercode-enabled AM radio went away when I got my software updated by the dealer. That's the only change I've made to the factory programming and I restored it ASAP.
