Primary User - setting up

I recently picked up my 2022 ID4 ProS from a dealership in Vancouver. I have been back and forth with the dealership trying to resolve the issue of setting a Primary User.

The vehicle shows 'Guest User' and 'Add Primary User'. I am registered on the VW app and can connect to the car happily - see info etc. However when trying to add a primary user, the car goes through the motions and then says.

Adding primary user cancelled. Guest account active.

When I look into the settings, the vehicle still has the former owner listed as Primary User.

I know I am not the only one who has had this issue. If anyone can give me a blow-by-blow of how to get this fixed, who to talk to and what to say that would be very helpful.

Some searching seems to imply that you need to do a factory reset on the infotainment system.

Settings -> System -> Factory Reset

Then, you'll have to re-connect everything and make a new account/connect your app to it.

I would think the dealer would have done this though. do you know if they did that?
