Tesla hasn't even started making the base version of the Model 3 yet, just the higher-end models which I think start around $50,000 us. With the slow pace they are currently manufacturing the car I don't know how long it will be until you can actually get a $35,000 Model 3.

There is no way you will get a M3 for the price of the highest trim Accord at least for the next 3-4 years. The US base M3 is $35k which translate to about C$50k (with tax and fee) here easily and Tesla is not making the base trim as there are a lot of people getting the bigger battery pack and/or the dual motor option and Tesla will fulfill those first before they will make the $35k model

Tesla Base trim > Accord tricked out.
Model 3 will have a rebate.
Tesla is now sending out notices for those that didn't get the fancy seats and large battery.
The Accord isn't out yet either.
Canada gets the AWD model later this year.

I can't afford either (with options I want, no way RWD is my thing) but certainly the Model 3 will be the coolest car on the road up here.

Don't get me wrong, if I could afford a Tesla I would have one already. Maybe my next car in a few years will be a 3. That would be cool, but I'm not holding my breath. I have a feeling by the time I am in the market there will be a lot more choices for ev's.

The dealers don’t understand the cars. They’re not plugging them in on the lots so nobody sees the benefit. From my discussions with them, they still think of this car as yet another hybrid so of course they can’t explain the benefits. I think the only people buying them are those who do their homework or those who meet the rare, informed dealer like that guy in Montreal that did the slideshow.
I had to suggest to my dealer that they post the credits and rebates along with the MSRP and any dealer incentives, he said "wow, that's a great idea!" I mean, duh!

I wish my local Drive Electric chapter was still active. I’d love to get these out to some ride-and-drives. People would love them. We always knew way more about the cars than the salespeople anyway.

since i bought the car month ago .. looks like its not selling much .. the average price paid has come down by 1000 in my area

After reading this thread I’m seeing that it is like comparing apples and oranges since it has both US and Canada pricing. For example, one poster saying they got $4k off the MSRP would literally be impossible in Canada.

I’m wondering if there is any way the mods can split this thread to make it meaningful? Maybe lock this one down and start 2 new threads; ‘Price paid - US$’ and ‘Price paid - CDN$’?

Hello from Raleigh - we picked up our Clarity Touring for $35,500 + 598 doc fee and NC taxes etc. We really enjoy the vehicle and do appreciate everyone’s input on the forum as we made our decision. I think we chose well.

I got a notification from them the other day - I think there was a Ride and Drive on Friday at a local school. Shame that the email said they were only expecting LEAF's, and "working on getting other types of cars".

It sounds like an Earth Day event is planned?

If you are here in FoCo, that was Fossil Ridge. My kids go there and I was excited to see they were having an event. Unfortunately I was out of town but my son took my car to school. I would have asked him to set it up for display with the group but my temp tag is expired . Didn’t want to attract attention.

Lol, yeah that might get some undesirable attention. I’ll keep an eye out for ya!

That's $4500 off MSRP. Even with crap fees (unless it's in the thousands), that's an amazing price. I got $2000 off MSRP last Dec and I was really pleased at that price point.
Where in NJ did you buy your car? That is indeed an amazing price for a Touring model, and I would be willing to make the trek from Upstate New York to get that price!!
