I checked with Beaverton Honda, Tonkin Gresham Honda. Both said I have to deal with the State.

Thanks for letting me know. That’s frustrating, since we just renewed the contracts for both Beaverton Honda and Gresham Honda to allow them to apply the rebate at POS. Sounds like I need to reach out to them to see if they still want to honor the rebate component. ​

We kinda stumbled into a Clarity but so far enjoying it. 2020 Touring in the Modern Steel Metallic color from Tonkin Gresham Honda. The internet price quoted was 28500. They also have a white touring for the same price still available for any Oregon folks still looking. Did not include the $2500 Oregon credit.

The buying process was really annoying. We wanted the gray one but turns out they didn't have it on the lot and pushed hard to sell the white one. We ended up getting the gray one and for the price. We looked and there weren't many touring and even less touring not in white in the state.

We ended up paying ~$29900 out the door with TTL + fees + dealer options installed ( mats, door guard) which they wouldn't remove or budge on the price (overpriced) .

How much they charge you for Dealer Options?
I bought from Salem, and they have no Dealer Options and I actually liked that part. And It seems they didn't give you instant Oregon Credit as mentioned at Oregon DMV.

It was roughly $600. Way over priced but they would not budge. I would have much preferred the dealer in Salem as that is where I am from. But sadly they only had white touring's and took two days to get back to me about pricing. Must have been an off day. I wasn't willing to venture to a lot to haggle without knowing a price.

I will file for the $2500 Oregon credit myself. After all the headaches I had dealing with them (why make it so frustrating to buy a car??) I didn't want to fight and argue getting the credit direct. They made no mention of it at all but I knew they could because I had checked the DEQ site before going.

Yup, it is frustrating that Dealership makes the whole experience bad. Was $600 included in $28500?

Be certain that all submitted documents are complete, and most importantly, legible. We received notices that the documents were incomplete, when in fact, the issue was, they were not legible. The document in question was a copy of our copy of the sales agreement. Ultimately, we had the dealer submit a copy of their top sheet, which was deemed legible.

No it was not. Which was part of the frustration once I got there. I wouldn't recommend Gresham Honda to anyone but again based on the color and trim (touring) we wanted it was really the only one. I'll take the mark up as the price I paid to get a color we wanted (mostly just not white).

I purchased the car 6 weeks ago from a CA dealer and had it shipped to NC. I'm still waiting on the title from CA DMV to register my car in NC. The dealer said 3 weeks, but the document has not showed up. Any insights or experience with the title processing timeline is appreciated. Thanks!

Under non-pandemic circumstances, 3 weeks for a title from California would be a very optimistic estimate. Best bet might be to attempt to contact the DMV, via email to get an update on the status of your title.

Wow. Yeah, I tried contacting DEQ as well before purchasing, but the trail stopped after talking to a couple people who didn't really know the details.

I tried: Beaverton Honda, Wilsonville Honda, Tonkin Gresham Honda (and maybe called one or two more I don't remember), and even though I clearly and concisely asked them about the $2500 point of sale rebate, they all said they can't.

Ended up using the Costco program at Swickard in Gladstone, got the base at the standard $25200ish after $6500 manufacturer-to-dealer and Costco discounts. But I would not recommend going through their finance there unless you are really on top of your stuff or bring a lawyer with you, honestly.

Honestly it sounds like people in the area should just go to Salem instead. I definitely would have if I had this information earlier For some people, the $2500 off the top might be the difference between being able to afford the car or not. It's extremely disappointing that all these sales reps and their managers claim to have no idea what the program is and stating up and down that they've never heard of anything like that and have never offered that credit.

Dang, sorry to hear you had so much of a headache too. I was seeing a bunch of black, silver, and white colors everywhere I looked at the beginning of the month at least.

$24500 is amazing price.

I paid $25300 for BASE at Salem Honda but because of $2500 Oregon Rebate it was $22800. Since you will eventually get $2500, you will have more savings.

But I really liked Honda of Salem. They didn't force me into any Dealer Accessory, simple transaction.

Okay, I just checked my stuff again to make sure, since that is the point of this topic after all. It was actually $25200, then some security garbage, "tax" and fees up to around $26k before trade-in. I think I got some free mat accessories by Costco though. Pretty similar overall.

Then it is same they sent me through COSTCO but they said NO to COSTCO Rebate (They aren't listed at DMV so they were correct).

That's unfortunate to hear about your experience with Swickard. I bought my Clarity from them (Touring, 12,750mi) for $24,000 and it was very painless. Granted, I did buy in cash, but I do not recall them forcing any mandatory dealer additions. They were very knowledgeable about the car and even gave me a free moonlit forest pearl paint pen to boot.

BTW, regarding Finance, Clarity is eligible for 1.9% through Honda Finance. Salem Honda offered me the same.
