Can someone with sufficient time on their hands overlay the Clarity side profile on the VW profile? I see several similarities besides wheelpants.

I had some time, but not much skill. It would be easier with a good side-view of the Mission Efficiency, which appears to be a very long vehicle. Either that, or it's a lot lower than the Clarity.

Roughly, the clarity has a 2" longer wheelbase, is 4 inches taller, is 5 inches wider and 5 inches longer overall.

Roughly, the clarity has a 2" longer wheelbase, is 4 inches taller, is 5 inches wider and 5 inches longer overall.
The amazing and more aerodynamic 2-seat 2013 VW XL1 was even narrower (65.6 inches), so the passenger's seat was staggered back to keep driver's and passenger's shoulders from pressing against each other. VW made only 250 of these diesel-hybrid cars, but none for the US. They called it "the 1-litre car" because it could go 100 km on 1 liter of diesel fuel (ie. 240 mpg). At 1,753 lbs, this $150K carbon-fiber-composite car was only 100 lbs lighter than my aluminum 2000 Honda Insight.
The outline of the Clarity behind the Mission Efficiency shows a considerable difference in frontal cross-sections. My garage is so narrow, I could easily take care of the major drag created by my Clarity's large mirrors.
