Online features in my new Mini

The only BMW subscription I ever used was (A)RTTI and it was useful for route planning prior to Google Maps traffic. Didn't pay to extend the subscription and didn't miss it.

When I got my SE in August 2020 I specifically asked for how long the online services were active, and my MA told me for the life of the car. I haven't heard of any need to renew service, except SiriusXM Radio if you like that (I do).

Regarding the PDF version of the Owners Manual/Navigation, Entertainment, Communication, I've been on the phone for 30 minutes. First with Ask MINI, who claimed that the MINI Motorer's Guide accessed from the main MINI app, wasn't theirs. I disagreed, saying that the MINI Motorer's Guide app is clearly from MINI or it wouldn't be accessible from the main MINI app. The Ask MINI rep then transferred me to BMW. BMW couldn't find me in their system using my phone number, which wasn't surprising because I've never called them before. My SE's serial number, however, confirmed I was the owner of a MINI Cooper SE. I explained I just needed a way to download the PDF file of the Navigation manual. It took the BMW rep 15 minutes and 3 holds to discover this procedure:
  1. Go to website https://bao.bmwgroup.com/
  2. Click on the rightmost entry, "MINI en-gb," to get the English version of the next page
  3. Enter your VIN and then specify English again to get to the English online Motors Guide
  4. Choose the PDF option in the lower right corner
  5. Select "Navigation / Entertainment / Communication (01405A02CF8)" to downloaded the NAV Manual.
Easy, peasy!

Edit: easier, peasier: download the NAV Manual from my website.

This made me laugh! "Well, then, why is there a button to open that app WITHIN YOUR OWN MINI APP??"

Thanks for making it easier for Android users to access that manual.

Well all of this stuff is fascinating but we just looked at our entire folder of documents we were give and that we signed and nothing, not a thing, has anything to do with infotainment features. So we effectively have NO clue what we have, how long we have it for, or what it will cost to keep.

I went to the MINI CONNECTED section in the app that has the MINI Store link and it brought me to a mini-connected.com site. I used my login details on the site and it showed me online services I am currently subscribed to.

Ok, so right away, I don't have that section.

Hmm, here is screenshot of my app,

I thought the app would be the same across the board
No, it's regional.
I am still waiting for Mini to reach back out to me which they were apparently "very eager" to do to explain the online features in our car. Already, we have a problem, which is that the Sirius trial we were supposed to have for a few months ended two days after we picked up the car.

Ok that’s odd. I (obvi) still have mine five weeks in, but have listened to it once. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for this!
I'm totally new to Mini and am very excited to get my MiniEV soon, I hope! I am also feeling a bit shaky being an ANDROID user. I've searched this forum for info about using an android with the Mini but it seems the subject is taboo... I'm certain it must be do-able, I'll just need to figure it out. This manual is definitely a big help!
Not to hi-jack the thread, but can anyone comment on using an android multimedia AI box?
