What does everyone think? I like it a lot, even though it's a bit bigger than I prefer. I might have to buy one anyway when it reaches the U.S.

I like the looks of the hatchback more than the sedan. Are both of them coming to North America?

Apparently Kia has not said definitively, but one article I read -- I forget whether it was Inside EVs or Electrek -- speculated that we might get just the sedan. I like both and would love to have the choice. I would also consider the EV3 because in my world smallness is a virtue, and that does seem to be coming to the U.S. as well. But I like the EV4 a lot.

Thanks for directing me to Electrek who indicated the Slovakian-built hatchback is for Europe only, which I find surprising because the hatchback is more like the SUVs North Americans love (and I think the South Korean-built sedan's longer rear end is a bit awkward):

Per Kia, the EV4 sedan will be built at its new EVO Plant in Korea, and the hatchback version will be built in Slovakia for targeted sales in Europe only.

FWIW, Kia is having some success with the K4 sedan, the EV4's ICE equivalent, in the U.S. It's their 2nd best-selling model. And over at Hyundai, while the Ioniq 6 doesn't sell as many copies as its SUV sibling, it posted sales increases in January and February. So it's not crazy for Kia to bring the EV4 here in sedan form. I just hope we get both.

Reports from the NY auto show confirm prior speculation that the U.S. is only getting the sedan, not the hatchback, but we should get it in early 2026. Even though it's a bit bigger than I normally go for, it's on my list for my next vehicle, presuming tariffs don't mess with things too badly.

You don't want to wait another year for the smaller EV3?

Re EV4: Somehow, I missed that the difference between a crossover and a sedan was the shape of the rear end.

I may well want the EV3. I want to see both! I hope it's still coming.

Kia just confirmed that the EV4 will be built in Korea for the U.S. market, meaning it will be subject to whatever tariffs the Mad King has settled on by early next year. Ugh. And still no updates on the EV3, which makes me worried that tariffs might be messing with that one coming to the U.S. I'd been pretty sure that one or the other would be my next car, so I hope I'm just overthinking.
