No longer receiving texts

Last week, the car no longer "recieves" texts and displays them in the dashboard where I could have the car read them to me and send responses from the list. My Samsung phone and watch are getting them. Have checked all settings to receive notifications and I can use voice commands to make calls through the phone. I'm baffled what setting got messed up. Anyone have anything similar, always wonder if it can be a software update.

try this on the phone:

click Settings>Connected Devices>Connection Preferences>Android Auto
Android auto app settings... Notifications...at bottom is Do Not Disturb "over ride"
turn that On.

First question is whether you changed to a newer phone? When I switched from a Sony running Android 10 to Samsung on a newer build, I lost the function to get messages thru bluetooth on the headunit. Now, I can only get them via Android Auto.

So, is it the function of getting messages without connecting Android Auto that you have lost? Or you are not getting messages with AA connected (which on stock Clarities requires the wired connection)?

There's no Connection Preferences option in Connected Devices, and if I get into Android Auto, there's no Notifications option.

Not a new phone. Just stopped working the other day, it's been working fine for 3 years. And it's not getting messages without Android Auto, so when not wired, just through Bluetooth.

Ok, but I don't think that's it and what doesn't make sense is that it worked fine for 3 years, then one day NO texts come to the car, not just one person's and it's when I'm NOT connected to Andriod Auto. It's when my phone is in the car connected wirelessly via Bluetooth. Android Auto requires a wired connection. And I only "interact" with the texts by seeing them in the instrument panel (not infotainment screen) and the buttons on the steering wheel (there's no mute option there).
