Must-have modifications

IMO Piano Black to aftermarket CF is a good choice, but I’ve got MINI Electric, less of a leap (and Electric has none of Piano’s downsides).
I have the checkered dash, I did not like the look of it. I also had the checkered dash in my 2019 Cooper S and it looked better, Mini changed it.

@tesrivmini I got the carbon dash overlays from Aliexpress today, I honestly didn't know what to expect after I placed the order. There are some other ABS plastic dash overlays that have the carbon fiber look for much less money, so I kept checking what I bought to make sure they were stated as real carbon fiber. I am happy to say they are real real carbon fiber and that they fit very well. It conforms around the vent holes perfectly and the height is perfect, I was worried it would block the dash ambient lighting but they do not. I also got the carbon fiber start/stop switch and the fit was excellent as well. I typically don't over do it but the side vents look like they need it now. The piano black center gauge goes well as is so I may just get the vents and be done. Still on the fence with the door trim, not sure if I will do them or not yet. Here is a pic of the passenger side dash.View attachment 17459
I'm glad to hear its real carbon fiber and the fit is great - thanks!

I still like the idea of the door trim, as it's actually likely to get touched and piano black is not ideal for that. But there's still that question about the piece to fit underneath the window switch, between the speaker and the handle that they don't seem to offer - other vendors do, but it might not match.

So when you say side vents, do you mean:

or this?

I think I might do dash panels and both types of vents above...perhaps

does it attach with double sided tape?

@tesrivmini The round side vents in my opinion need it bad, they are a dull hard black plastic. As for the other vent, what do you think? For me, it did not stand out as much for needing it but it might once I get the round CF covers. I love the idea of the door trim too, but I have not found a decent price yet. Fortunately, they do not get as dirty as the dash, even with two teenage kids but I do think they will look cool.

@moofpup Yes, it is double sided tape. It is the 3M super sticky type but I'll see if they handle heat when I leave work today, if the panels don't fall off this afternoon, that will be a good thing!

It's been a few weeks - did you get the Kagus? Do they slip at all in the front seats? To me those look even more substantial than Weather Tech.
Well, I got mine yesterday - absolutely rock solid. Very nicely made, great for the price. Not a huge fan of their logo towards the bottom of the front mats. But very satisfied. Thanks to all who recommended them.

Well, it's personal preference of course, but I think once the dash panels and the round vent covers are in, those vents on the far sides would stand out to me - and for the price, I'll definitely be getting them.

The advantage is, it doesn't all have to be done at once, perhaps a new vendor will show up with door trims.

I just need to figure out where to stop with the CF! o_O

I removed the logo plates from the 3D Maxpider mats I got for our Clarity. I used a pair of screwdrivers to pop off the fasteners on the underside. However, that leaves an indentation where the logo plate was. I covered the holes with black duct tape. I never got around to removing the logo plates on the mats in our MINI so I often "see" a fork someone left on the floor.

Thanks for verifying! I may give them a go instead of Weather Tech. The 'low rim' rubber Mini brand mats I purchased (sorry - I don't recall the specific name - Mini has both low rim and higher rim versions of their weather mats) are not good enough for keeping dirt off the carpet.

Like @insightman does with the Corona/Power Spoke wheels, I order Weathertech (and now 3D) mats as soon as I get a car, and store the velours for show-off days and eventual trade-in or sale of the car. The 3D Kagus will only come out when I’m cleaning the interior.

Actually, I love seeing the MINI-E logo on the passenger's floor mat so much that I bought a second set of Iconic mats from another forum member so I can use one set daily and have a perfect set for show.

OK, so the first one definitely isn't a must have, but I added genuine carbon fiber covers for the windscreen washer nozzles - to match my aerial cover :)

I also added the genuine Mini stainless steel pedals - the throttle pedal is the manual transmission version. Of course after I installed it, I realized I'd forgotten the Kagu mats cover the dead pedal - oh well, I know it's there! Installation is easy, just need a Torx T27 for the throttle pedal. The pic is of course before I put the mat back.

Thanks - I had to select the 2022 standard MINI Cooper, then 2door HT before anything would show up. Was using the Cooper S option and getting nothing. (I'm assuming that will fit.)
In speaking with 3D mats customer service- they haven't yet mapped the 2023 SE, so cannot recommend fit. But I assume it would be exactly the same as the 2-door hardtop, yes?

I just received my front 3D mats in the mail today. I'll be doing a review video for them. (haven't unboxed yet) I took the option on their website for the 2-door hardtop. I think 2021 through 2023 would all be the same floor dimensions.

That’s exciting man! Here’s a a couple photos of mine. I added a splitter and replaced the 2021 SE grille with a 2021 Cooper S grille. RallyArmor mudflaps, tinted taillights, painted my brakes yellow to match the highlights and custom bonnet stripes. I did just a little bit of work on the interior and utilized some red carbon fiber highlights on the window controls on the door handle, the center of the steering wheel, the engine start lever and around the touchscreen display. I had plans to add rally lights on the front, but I’m saving that for the ‘23 Countryman SE that’s coming soon. Thought I’d share what I’ve done to inspire some ideas!

Did you tint your taillights yourself? If so was it difficult? Or did you have someone do it and how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking? thx!
