Psst! Nobody tell "David Green" that "Top Gear" fumbled the race badly, and set up the "Raven" Model S in the energy-conserving, low-performance "range" mode -- five times in a row! -- which is the only reason it lost the drag race to the Porsche Taycan.
Let's hope it was an honest mistake this time, and not another case of "Top Gear" faking a poor performance by a Tesla car, as happened some years back when the "Top Gear" TV show faked their result of a track test of the Gen I Roadster.
The S vs Taycan is like comparing a Lexus LS and a Panamera.
The way I see it the Raven S is only compared to the Taycan because there are so few BEV’s on the market. They are vastly different cars, made for a different purpose.
The fact that the S is comparable at all astounds me. I want to see how the plaid S stacks up. That will be the first S with any serious cooling and aero geared towards performance.
Roadster 2.0 v Taycan will probably be a joke.
Most of Tesla’s focus seems to be on scaling production and lowering costs with performance as a fun side project.
