MINI Electrics to gain Tesla Supercharger access in 2025

Today, I got a letter from BMW revealing our MINI Electrics will be able to charge (with a certified adapter) on the Tesla Supercharger network in 2025. Here's the key paragraph in the letter:

In a continued effort to provide the best possible electric vehicle charging experience for our customers, MINIUSA announced that drivers of MINI Combined Charging System (CCS) battery electric vehicles (BEV) will gain access to designated Tesla Supercharger stations in 2025. We are currently working with high priority on enabling the full Supercharger Network accessibility in the vehicles and respective MINI App and developing MINI-certified NACS adapters.
 
Hey I got a letter today as well.

I got the NACS adapter for my F-150 Lightning a month or so ago, and it's not too bad. Only about six inches long, directions say you attach it to the charger cable before plugging into the vehicle. I haven't tried it yet, but I'd be happy to get one for my SE.
 
Got my letter as well! I already have an A2Z adapter that I've already tested (via a Chargepoint charger w/ NACS). Can't wait to have more options driving down/up I-5, which is barely doable right now w/ the Mini.

I'm betting we'll have to activate via app (no plug & charge unless you have the new Countryman SE w/ miniOS 9).
 
Ford provided these adapters free I believe?
Whereas Chevy Bolt owners have to pony up $200 for theirs, which seems pretty steep to me.

Nothing in the letter to say whether these will be sent free or what they'll cost for us MINIers?

All my charging to date has been L2, but I'd like to have this option.

I got that letter today. To me it seems to be as much a warning to "don't fry your car using any ild adapter, 'cause we won't fix it!" as anything else. I say that due to how much detail is provided re. charging standards, plugs, etc., compared to the lack of detail re. use of the Supercharger network. But, hard to blame MINI for wanting to get ahead of things
 
If I hypothetically got an A2Z converter – their HQ is 15 miles from my house – would my car simply not charge? Or would any potential warranty claims related to the use of an unsupported converter just get denied? Somehow I think the strongly-worded "will void your warranty" is contrary to the Magnuson-Moss Act.
 
The charger has no idea what adapter is being used. The adapter pretty much just swaps the DC pins between the NACS and CCS sides, directly connects the communications pins, and has some thermal switches that stops the charge if the adapter gets too hot. I think the wording is the car manufacturer's way of covering their *** if something were to happen while you were charging with an adapter.

The A2Z adaptor will work fine. They are just dumb adaptors. I have a Ford one (Tesla made) and A2Z I suspect the OEM BMW options will be either tesla or lectron made.
 
So it's about 1/4 of the way through 2025 - anyone get any updates about whether this is actually happening? My dealer hasn't heard anything, so I'm guessing this is either not happening until December or perhaps it's been scrapped given the situation at Tesla?
