Oh yes! The Kona was the logical step up for us. Just wish Toyota had followed that logic too.
My car previous to my TM3 was a Prius.

Sidebar: My wife hates the user interface of my TM3, but all other aspects of living with an EV convinced her to get her Kona EV four years ago (this August).

Thank you! Not seen inside a Tesla yet but from what I read I probably agree with your wife. Love buttons though a joystick would nave been good.

A nice thing about the TM3: we depart on a 10,000 km drive to the Seattle area, then Vancouver Island, and then back across Canada (still not planned after some stops in Alberta) over the next four weeks (departing in less than an hour) and charging is seamless.

Just slightly(very) jealous!;) Our equivalent would be a drive to Perth WA (Western Australia) and mostly desert with some coastal cliffs and caves. Recently completed charge stations all the way across now. Have a wonderful journey.

Did those 10k-12k mile cross-country jaunts a few times in my 2013 MS85, before the Supercharger network was well-developed. Took a bit of creativity to charge, and luckily not in any hurry. Loved the Alexander Graham Bell museum in Baddeck NS, where I charged in a boatyard.

Can't wait for a NACS-CCS adapter for my Kona, but the MS85 with its free charging still rules for long trips.

navguy12, have a great trip, and perhaps consider an air purifier running off a small inverter to deal with forest fire smoke.

We did our 26 day 10,765 km drive (21 travelling days) to the west coast and back in my TM3 this month, which explains the low km for this month on my wife's Kona:

All of the grey "other" (403 kWh) energy shown here was free, either as 110v or level 2 charges (up to 48 Amps in Waterton Lakes National Park in southwestern Alberta):

Discussion: the grandson inadvertently left a door ajar. Three days later, my wife was greeted by a stone cold dead 12 volt system. Jumped the car with the mini-jumper we keep in the glove box (has to force the unit to give juice by using the safety override feature). To prevent any future drama, I swapped out the four year old 12 volt battery as a precautionary measure.

Just curious as to your choice for the source and make of the replacement (as a benefit to other Cdn owners)
Thanks...Ed

I replaced my 12V battery last September, after 4 yrs and at approx. 60,000km. I bought one from the local "Battery Store" in Kitchener. The original in the car still worked, but no longer tipped over 12V, even when fully charged.
